- Overall Impression: Love AKL! The resort is outstanding and the club level concierge is wonderful. Even with construction/remodeling going on a few rooms down from ours we had no issues with noise or any inconvenience at all. The one and only negative issue we experienced was with bus service during mid-day/afternoon hours when trying to return to the resort. On more than one occasion we found it worked out better to hop on a park-to-park bus to go to DAK park and from there hop a second bus to AKL. This should not have been necessary, but buses returning to AKL from other parks were very infrequent.

- Overall Impression: It was our first time staying at AKL and we loved the resort . Even with a standard view we had partial savanna views which we enjoyed more then we thought we would. It’s proximity to most locations on property makes it a bit further from the areas we enjoy the most. So in the future we would tend to stay in the Epcot area to have the options of more modes of transportation to get to the parks to maximize our time in parks or Disney springs .

I think where this resort falls short is the transportation, which can be a significant factor to consider depending on how much time families plan to spend in the parks, which parks they plan to visit in their trip, and the demographic makeup of their family. So, I’m not sure I would recommend this resort for a trip where you’re hitting the parks every day. But, if you’re planning a more low-key, relaxing vacation with intermittent park days, this is an amazing resort to consider.

We unfortunately went when there was a huge cold front that hit the US, so the animals weren't really out the majority of the time and we didn't get proper use the hotel since it was our first-ever WDW trip.

- Overall Impression: AKL is beautiful and serene. We love having the savanna view from our room and can never spend enough time on the balcony, enjoying the animals. The Mara is an excellent quick-service restaurant, and we were particularly happy with the entire section in the refrigerator case that's now devoted to plant-based foods. That was a happy surprise.
The room renovations are, in general, wonderful. However, I miss the carpeting, as it absorbs noise, especially overhead tromping about, and the new flooring isn't what I'd call swank. But the furnishings and especially the bathroom are quite nice.
The CMs are AKL are awesome. And love love love the animals.

- Overall Impression: Loved the theming and the grand lobby - it was the first time I’ve stayed at a lobby hotel like that with DVC. I loved how close we were to everything. We had a 1 BR value studio for 3 of us with a view of the pool area. I loved this hotel and will def be staying again in the future. My only issue was how long the lines were for the front desk at times. They usually had 3-4 cast members manning the desk - they were exceptional, but the wait times would be upward of 30 minutes just to ask a simple question.

- Overall Impression: Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great resort. The pools, restaurants, service are all excellent. Even if you have an issue, they resolve the issue quickly and are very willing to accommodate. You do need to take buses to go anywhere but its worth taking the bus. If you need to get somewhere fast, you can take an Uber. It costs about $10 to the contemporary resort which is pretty inexpensive for Disney.

Or since that probably never going to happen, I wish they would put a lower limit on the number of tickets so and reduce the number of events. It makes MK really congested on non party nights because there aren't many and everyone wants to see the fireworks.

- Overall Impression: Coming from the Polynesian in our last stay it was a drop off when compared to that. As most people say it compares most to me to Wilderness Lodge but I like the feel of Wilderness Lodge better and its décor. Not dining at any of the table service restaurants may have taken away from the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I did not dislike it at all but it is below Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge on my scale of deluxes. While the animals are nice since we have the Bronx zoo so close by where we live seeing the animals is not a big wow factor for me. Having the Pacific Northwest or Hawaiin feel is a more ow factor for me and my family.

- Overall Impression: Love Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge -- we were blessed to have a Savanah view, which means you have animals right outside your balcony. You have to bus to all the different theme parks -- you know that going in, but... lovely space... food is awesome... the cultural exchanges are awesome... Love it!

- Overall Impression: I cried when I saw the view for the first time. I was overlooking the field where the giraffes slept at night. Sometimes I left my balcony window open all night. Cried when I left, but that's me. It was a dream come true, sadly it was a solo trip. I didn't find the room distance to the lobby too far, I enjoyed every minute in the hotel. The decor is so beautiful. Love Boma restaurant but I spend so much time in the parks I didn't probably spend enough time there. Its quiet, dark, lovely. If I had kids under 15 I don't think this would be my first resort choice. If I could book at the same price I paid in February 2020, I would love to stay here again.

I booked DAKL because it was the best deal for my dates and my expectations were blown away. Best room quality, best bus service, best TS dining, and overall best hotel I've stayed at in WDW in the recent past. Very happy with DAKL and hope to be back soon!
