• (3/5) The checkin was easy and quick. Our room was not ready but we expected that as we checked in at 8:00am. We went to the room when it was ready of the four of us only two of had magic bands that opened the door. We called and were told everyone’s magic bands should be working. When we stated they were not we were told we had to take them to the front desk which we did and after some they got all of them working. For as long as this system has been in place this should not be happening anymore.

• (3/5) The room had been upgraded since the year before when we were there, however there were so many things that did not work at all. Things you would think would be changed when doing a remodel. The vent in the bathroom did not work, the refrigerator was found hidden in the closet, the hot water in the bathroom sink never would get hot for my husband to shave. We used the ice bucket and had to run the water in the kitchen area for about 20 min to get it hot and then pour it into the sink in the bathroom.

My only critique is that the calendar of events for the resort should be placed In rooms instead of having to go to front desk. I mentioned this to the staff there and was told they have been trying to figure out a way to do so. Not sure why it’s complicated but hopefully they implement this soon.

The My Disney Experience App kept telling us to check back later, and we did not receive a text notification from OKW that the room was ready. We had to leave Animal Kingdom and go to the front desk to get our room, even though I had checked us in online weeks in advance. At our previous trip to WDW, we stayed at the DVC side of Grand Floridian. I checked in online beforehand, we went straight to the theme parks after dropping off our bags from the airport, and I received a text when the room was ready. This bad check in OKW was very disappointing.


• (4/5) Our room number was text to us at 4:30 in the afternoon and we were able to go right to our room. My only complaint with this would be that I hoped our room would be ready by 4.

• (5/5) Chet was very friendly and helpful. Due to having a scooter we had asked to be in one of the elevator buildings or ground floor. None of that seemed to be on the reservation. After explaining our situation Chet checked with housekeeping to find a ground floor for us.

• (5/5) We're arrived at 6am on check in day after a red eye flight. We're had booked two 2 bedroom villas near the hospitality house for our family reunion. Not only were they able to check us in to our room immediately, but kept our two rooms together. Excellent customer service!!


• (5/5) Great service! Simply asked where my building was at the bell desk and they insisted on taking me and were super friendly and informative.


• (5/5) Arrived late evening. From the point of getting off Magic Express to checking in I was to my room in about 15 min.


• (5/5) Although we were far from the main building, the location was quiet with a pond/fountain in the back. We had requested a first floor due to my dad needing a scooter and they accommodated the request.

• (2/5) We had noted that we'd like to check in at 11 (since we were moving from BLT and had groceries) and 4PM (normal check in time came and went with no notice that our room was ready) so I called and 4:30 and rec'd a text it was ready and to go straight to our room at 4:45. We couldn't get in..none of the 6 magic bands would work nor would the phone. The people below us was having the same problem and had went to the office to get help. SO that CM ended up letting us in our room and said he'd take our magic bands and get them 'rekeyed' and bring them right back. 90 minutes later he still hadn't returned with our magic bands and i had no clue what his name was. Again, I called and a few minutes later he showed back up. 2 of them still didn't work but i wouldn't let him take them back again as we had dinner reservations.

• (4/5) We arrived every late to the check in desk so they just had the one night person on. I was also traveling with 4 other adults and we all had to load our own credit card onto our magic bands so that took a considerable amount of time. We also had to get our magic bands reset because they were not activated. This all was made longer by the fact the woman checking us in told us she normally doesn’t work front desk so she was slower at times. Not a huge problem as we were not planning on doing anything that night but we had just traveled most of the day and wanted to get to our room and sleep.


• (4/5) Another family member checked in before my arrival and was driven to our room and given a tour of the resort layout. The cast member also have her tips on the bus system and other amenities at the resort


• (5/5) Fast lines for check-in, with plenty of cast members available during busy hours. We got our room assignment and the CM made an attempt to change our room to a ground level unit because I had a scooter, but there was nothing available. She was very patient and helpful.


• (4/5) Easy and simple with the contactless check-in due to covid procedures. Travelled with a toddler and requested a high chair and pack-n-play but neither were in the room when we entered.


• (1/5) We received our room ready text and after a long day of travel from the west coast headed to our villa. Our magic bands didn't work so I opened the app to use the mobile key - also didn't work. My husband ran to the hospitality house while I called the number on the mobile key. 20 minutes later husband is back with fixed magic bands but I never got an answer on the phone.

When I went back to the front desk the cast member was very helpful and quickly corrected the problem but it should have happened in the first place.


• (4/5) We did the online check in and were notified while still at MCO that the room was ready. The first room (Hospitality House area) we checked into was dirty and was being cleaned. I spoke with house keeping who called the front desk about us and they called me back. The family checking out had the same last name and someone thought it was going to be a split stay. They quickly found us the same 2 bedroom at South Point, 45 Bldg 2nd flr. We loaded onto transportation and they drove us to our new room. I applaud OKW staff on the quick fix.

• (2/5) I could not pre-register on line as I kept getting Goofy saying there was an error. When we did check in there were four other groups in my family who registered credit cards. No one told them they needed a pin number to use the magic band for charges. This has never happened before.

We ended up far away from the studio in another building. We were told that a 2 bedroom would be available in 4 days of our arrival. Which it was but were already settled in our location.

• (1/5) We actually had 3 different check-in days during our stay in 4 different rooms (Studio, 2 BR and a 3 BR). Our rooms were never ready on time, if fact very late each and every time. No help from the lobby cast members. We witnessed an elderly couple (wife in a wheelchair) and a family with a disabled child in a wheelchair also waiting in the Lobby to check in. Even though we had 2 small children who needed naps, we felt for the others waiting so much more!

• (5/5) The service of the Cast Members was wonderful. At Olivia's they catered to our dietary needs and provided take out for my husband and I. The front desk was wonderful when I went to pay on my account with a Disney gift Card for my spending and Al from the Bell Desk was amazing when there was no bus going back to the area of my room and was way too far to walk, our takeout food was getting cold, he put me in one of the utility vehicles and drove me back to my room.

• (4/5) Overall, cast members were friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the counter service restaurant by the pool that was unsatisfactory, but other than that, it was good.

• (4/5) Friendly and helpful. Always a smile and greeting when you approached them, or greeted them along the way. Because the reservation was under my son-in-laws name his credit card was connected to the account. We talked to someone who disconnected us from his account so we could use our own credit card. When the bill came it looks like our daughter had all the charges on her card. Luckily we did very little charging so we can get it taken care of but it was frustrating. Technology seems to be an issue with Disney.

• (5/5) Every cast member I interacted with great. Even Cast Members driving down the Roadways on service vehicles would yield to Guests who were approaching walk ways.

• (5/5) Hotel manager gave all 10 of us 1 fast pass for any ride we wanted because of the room delay. Very accommodating, was not expecting anything from them.

• (2/5) After not receiving one of our bags for more than 5 hours, we contacted the front desk of OKW and we were told they would try to locate it. A few more hours passed and still no bag. We decided to call around and finally located the bag at our originally booked hotel in the baggage room. Why the front desk at OKW couldn’t do this hours before we did is a huge mystery to us.

We were staying far from the hospitality house and the busses had stopped running so bell services offered to take us all in a golf cart to our room and being 5 college kids had a fun with us on the ride. We also ate at Olivia’s and our server was great as well as the bar tenders through our the resort.

On the morning we checked out, we encountered a group of cast members with Mickey hands driving through the resort area singing and waving to everyone. It made our departure more of a celebration rather than a sad event.

When I went to pickup our grocery order from Garden Grocer the cast member drove me back to the room and helped bring the bags upstairs. Yes, we tipped him.

• (15/25) It was generally fine. There was a HUGE water ring on the side table that was an eye sore, and the phone was on that table. If housekeeping had just moved the phone over the ring, we’d have never known. There was also a yucky stain on one of the throw pillows. Overall, pretty good though.

• (15/25) While the rest of the hotel was nicely cleaned, when we checked in, there was a used shower cap hanging in the master bathroom along with a child’s ring on the vanity (which we returned to lost and found). They were odd oversights, considering the rest of the room was sparkling clean.


• (5/25) I was appalled when we were standing waiting to get into our room as our door was in horrible shape. It had been painted over peeling paint and it was just a mess. Some of the new paint was peeling off and rusting. VERY sad as this place used to be top notch! Once inside, the problems continued. Blow dryer didn't work, body soap pump was broken and we took it apart and tried to fix it and left it like that so they'd see it when housekeeping came in...they just put it back together broken. When loading and unloading the dishwashers bottom rack, the whole dishwasher would fall out of the cabinet. Dirty marks and scrapes all over the walls of the 2nd bedroom. No note pads or pens were left in our room. No laundry soap. VERY disappointed in this place and we've stayed here several times. Floor transition from bedroom to bathroom was coming up from the floor.

• (15/25) Upon arrival, the room we were assigned was not immediately ready (which can be expected). When we got to our room, there was a TON of wear and tear (notable scuffs on the walls, along the bottom of various pieces of furniture like a vacuum had scraped it over and over again, scuffs on the doors, etc.) one of the bedspreads had hard-candy melted on to it, one of the headboards had a questionable dried liquid on it, dust everywhere, dirty phone, dirty remote, dirty bathroom floor along the baseboards, water marks on the faucet in the bathroom, etc.


• (25/25) Housekeeping emptied our trash every day except the day before we checked out. Clean towels were kept stocked and the bathroom counters were wiped down. Well-kept, spacious villa, with plenty of room for guests. Large bathroom, compartmented so more than one person can get ready at a time. Full size washer and dryer in a large separate laundry room. We were on the second floor with views of the golf course through the trees. The balcony was large with a table and four chairs. The resort was a nice escape from the business and noise of the parks.

• (4/10) For a room that is designed to sleep 5 adults, there’s nowhere to put the clothes and belongings of those in the living room. Also, whomever decided that the only entrance to the shared bathroom should be through the master bedroom needs to have their head examined.

There are a pain in the ass to put up and down and extremely loud when doing so. They were awful. However, it’s still not enough to lower my rating.

I found the paint colors to be very relaxing, the new vanity countertops to be beautiful, and the overall look of the place to be relaxing, inviting, and high end. We absolutely loved the wood look floors, and thought they made the rooms feel much cleaner and nicer than the carpet did.

• (10/10) This is the only resort which has twin beds. My wife and I preferred to sleep separately, and when things changed and I came with a friend instead, well, it would have been awkward to share the bed.

• (6/10) Room color seemed bland - we prefer the colors used before the recent refurb. Already tired of the all-white linens (where's the colorful bed spread?). It's Florida - why do we need two sheets with a blanket between? How come there's no pen or paper by the phone?? In one room our phone was the old model that looked dirty and tacky, and had the wrong room # on the label. Those things are hard to hang up when the room is dark and the wakeup call comes in.

• (3/5) The lobby area at Old Key West is charming, but I do find myself having lobby-envy when I visit other resorts, like the Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom, and even the Beach club. Old Key West’s is very sweet, but not especially impressive.


• (3/5) The lobby was small and we seemed to be there at a time when a lot of guests were arriving. We we in line for a long time. However, the cast members were aware of the slow moving lines and continually tried to ask guests if they needed anything while we waited. The lobby sitting area was almost adjacent to the check in, which meant you were kind of removed from your party if you needed to sit while you waited, which my husband had to do. It was a small area and kind of cramped due to the amount of traffic it held.

We also had tubs that were slow to drain that were fixed. Our room key/lock stopped working and we realized that our door wasn’t locking so we called again and they came right away and fixed it. They also helped us when some of our room keys didn’t work after that.

• (3/15) 2 BR Lock Off at OKW. We unpacked and then found a massive leak coming down from the light above sink in the tub area of MB. It took numerous calls, inspections and engineers to finally escalate us to being moved and comped. It blew an entire day. The room above us had bathroom plumbing issue (likely toilet per engineer) which was sending gross water into our bathroom. Additionally, there were ants crawling all over the kitchen sink and counter area! We finally got to the right person who provided us another 2 BR unit and a separate studio for our son and daughter in law which was acceptable. We were comped two nights at a 2 BR of our choice for future stay. We have a 2 BR Lake View at BLT in May 2022. Acceptable comp, but an unfortunate incident.

They basically said "it will come out when it comes out".

They could definitely use a quick service where you can order a variety of things and eat there (there were only a couple of picnic tables to use by Good’s food to go). This is one of the biggest drawbacks to staying there.

I knew this resort was sprawling before coming, but I didn't anticipate how far away we would be put and that the internal bus system seemed to be slower than the park buses. Therefore, the downside was the distance to the awesome pool (we did not have HH booking).

• (10/10) With a toddler, having a playground or a community hall is a must. Old key West has both. The main pool is fantastic as well and my son went up that slide probably 100 times during that trip. Pool games were fun and engaging. Fitness Center is small but has great equipment as well as fresh towels and water whenever we went in. You can get a decent workout in if you choose to do so. Playgrounds were great. I don’t understand why Disney is getting rid of the playgrounds at many of the Deluxe Resorts as families can’t always use the pool. The same goes for the Community Hall. It was too cold to use the pool on one of our resort days and my son loved going to the Community Hall to do some crafts.

It was common for our family to have it to ourselves, which was really cool. Hanks rental was great. We rented bikes and did Tie Dye as well. Both were reasonably priced and the cast members were friendly and helpful.

• (4/10) The internal bus system seemed slower than the park buses and the internal bus stop system never completely made sense to me. To walk to the main entrance was a hike and so we sat waiting for buses A LOT on this trip. I knew this was a downfall before booking OKW, but thought that it wouldn't be that bad - many people complain about the same thing with AKL and we didn't mind the bus system there. However, these buses ate into a lot of time for us and we tried everything we could think of to make it better - watch the app for arrival times, use internal bus, walk to next bus stop, use the boat to Disney Springs... nothing seemed to be better; all the transportation kind of sucked in some way.


• (2/10) This was the biggest complaint for us. The bus service was terrible. We waited over 25 mins on more than one occasion. We never boarded a bus without at least a 15min wait for us and talking with others, they had been waiting at least 10 mins already. The buses were very crowded as there didn't seem to be that many of them.

So much easier to just take the vehicle, park and drive it right off the lift gate. Takes us less than 5 min.


• (8/10) Boat to Disney Springs was great. Every 20 Minutes and very relaxing. Buses were typically good and ran consistently. However, one night a bus to Magic Kingdom didn’t come for almost an hour. We were forced to get a Minnie Van to make our dining reservation. It was a total of 55 minutes between 2 buses which I think is unacceptable. If you have a car, this resort is amazing because you park outside your room. We have found it’s easier to drive to most parks except Magic Kingdom. Having your car outside your room cannot he beat.

• (8/10) We reasonably expected long bus rides due to many bus stops at resort. There were times where we were waiting for our park bus and multiple buses from the other parks came before ours arrived. The arrival time kept getting pushed back on the board. It only happened twice during our trip, so not a regular occurrence.


• (8/10) Overall, we were pleased with transportation. However, there was one morning where there were a ton of busses for Animal Kingdom, and we had to wait 35 minutes for a busy to Magic Kingdom.

• (4/10) We did not have a car, and found bus transportation to be very slow. OKW is a huge resort, and there are multiple stops within the resort before it leaves for the parks. Depending on where you are located in the resort, your wait time for buses can be up to 45 minutes.


• (10/10) The buses ran regularly. We tended to board on the last bus and get off on the first bus, both were not too far from our room and this saved us time.

Loved the skyliner it was fast and problem free for our trip.

• (4/10) This Disney vacation was a disappointment when evaluating the bus service. The buses were just not running at a rate I had experienced in the past. We did need scooter access and fortunately that worked out better than I expected. For the most part the bus drivers were very helpful getting the scooter loaded. OKW is so large that it took a lot of time both going out and coming back to make all the bus stops. We had to wait over 35 mins for a bus to get to Hollywood studios one morning and almost lost a chance at a boarding pass for ROR. Animal Kingdom was also bad and the cast member explained that buses were moved from there to Disney Springs which was frustrating for those trying to get people out of the park.

• (4/10) While the buses ran regularly & drivers were great, the resort is large & has many stops. Weakest area of the resort


• (10/10) Bus stop right outside my building with wait times. Convenient and quick. One caveat: The busses played Jimmy Buffett songs and included "A Pirate Looks At 40" which includes the lyric "I made enough money to buy Miami but I pissed it away so fast". Not appropriate for A Disney bus.

• (6/10) We had our own car, so I put not applicable, but I can imagine it being a nightmare if you didn’t have your own car and you weren’t in a building right near the restaurants and lobby.

• (2/10) On one occasion we asked for a golf cart ride for my handicapped father and where told they could not


• (4/10) Buses ran on something like a 45-60 minute schedule in the early morning, so we never were able to rope drop the Extra, Extra Magic Hours. Usually got there about 30 minutes after Park opened. Bus display screen would say 20 minutes and then keep getting moved back. Happened every day, and we never could determine the schedule of the early bus. Boat to Disney Springs worked very well, wait times not that long.


• (4/10) As we were all in college at the time we did not rent a car (which when I go with my family we always do). I found it was VERY difficult to do a bus only trip at OKW we were all the way in the back left corner of the resort so we were one of the first stops. It took us at least 25 minutes by the time we got on the bus till we left the resort in the morning. This ended up throwing us off our plan most mornings which resulted in longer lines the whole trip. I really think if you are going to stay at OKW I think you need to rent a car or be ready to do Lyft/ Minnie vans the whole time.

• (8/10) Five bus stops - ugh! We requested Peninsular Rd area due to it being the first bus stop, to guarantee I could get my scooter on the bus. By the time we'd get to Hospitality House, it was frequently standing room only, or no room at all. Felt sorry for those folks who couldn't squeeze onto the bus.

• (4/10) Very frustrated with bus transportation because of limited number of guest on each bus. If Disney is going to do this then they need more buses at OKW. Time is valuable.


• (4/10) We were in the Turtle Pond area, and buses would frequently arrive already full. The transportation boards were not working the entire time we were there. Instead of an arrival time, it just said ‘bus’.

The worst was if you just missed the bus to or from Disney Springs you waited approximately 40 minutes for the next bus. This really made us appreciate and miss the ferry boat service even more. I just wish that most people knew how to operate their ECV's. The bus driver should not have to operate and park the ECV because the owner can not. I am patient and understanding but when it takes over 40 minutes to load up at OKW because 2 people could not operate their ECV's my patience and understanding wanes considerably.

• (8/10) Mainly took buses. Resort is large and has a few stops. The closest stop to us was usually the last stop so I always risked not being able To get on especially because I needed a scooter. Only had a problem one morning and multiple buses came and couldn’t take me, so we waited almost an hour til we were able to get picked up. We ended up twice paying for accessible Minnie vans. But that isn’t cheap

• (6/10) Could be better for deluxe DVC. What makes it deluxe? I have stayed many others and felt like I got so much more. This is a moderate, if anything. I feel like the points are of course lower because of that, but still the individual houses, bus system and size say moderate.

• (10/10) We used my parents points to go on this trip. That was hands down the only way we would have been able to afford spring break if the hotel was take care of. And I know that my parents have said and still believe that DVC is the best purchased they have ever made. We have vacationed literally countless times on our points and it has way more they paid for itself at this point.


• (6/10) I wouldn't pay those room rates out of pocket, especially since you don't even get a pen or pad of paper by the phone. Talk about cheapo!

• (4/10) WDW and our overall disappointment with the recent changes in the parks and quality of food and entertainment have soured our taste for the most magical place on earth to the point we're considering selling our ownership in DVC. We have been members for nearly 30 years and have seen a gradual decrease in perks and quality.
