• (4/5) When the building was expanded, there was no thought put into the views of the new rooms especially the end of the halls. What was surprising was the fact our room looked out onto the laundry drop off and pick up. Trucks all day and a bright light all night with the laundry trailers in full view. Why put a balcony out if that is what you are looking at?


• (4/5) The check-in process seemed a bit rushed, and they didn't seem to have enough staff to handle how busy the desk was, but overall it was a decent experience.

• (4/5) Having stayed at three other DVC resorts, I am used to driving up and having a cast member "welcome" me home. I really enjoyed being met by a cast member with an ipad with our reservation, taking us to the front desk and getting all set. That did not happen here, but I assumed that had to do with the busy time of year. We did not have a separate check in for Boulder Ridge/DVC stays. We stood in line with the rest of the guests checking in at Wilderness Lodge. We had a nice cast member chat with us while standing in line. While we had already done our check in, we just had to get our magic bands as we live in Canada. Cast members were pleasant. We arrived at 2 p.m. and the room was not ready however as soon as we left the front desk, we magically got a text that our room was ready (2:45 p.m.).

• (4/5) I was very satisfied checking in. It was seamless. I booked a studio but was upgraded to a one bedroom. Somehow on my bill I was being charged an additional 700 dollars for the upgrade and I had to speak to a cast member to have that fixed. The cast member was very apologetic and fixed it right away. Just a minor inconvenience that it I hadn’t gotten it taken care of could’ve been a major surprise

• (5/5) Bell service was very helpful and friendly as well as the front staff. Also the housekeeper was very friendly and responded to our requests for extra hangers and sheets very quickly.

• (4/5) Cast members in the lobby and management were exceptional. Cast members in the store of Wilderness lobby were mediocre. Seemed tired and not really wanting to be there. Cast Members in Quick Service @ Roaring Fork were great but whoever put our orders together for pick consistently left something out and it became a running joke of what would be left out of our order. Geyser Grill host was a complete idiot and seated our family of 5 for dinner in lounge chairs. We had to eat off our laps (we have kids and he said eh oh well nothing else available) and he could have care less about being there. Even fellow cast members avoided him. Our server at Geyser Grill was a doll and made sure we were taken care of. We had several issues in our studio and it was quite tense as each service worker came in to fix items even acting like we didnt know how our mini fridge worked. Wouldnt replace it until they had checked it with a thermometer. Then he took 2 hours to locate a replacement by 9:30pm our first night. Rosie fixed our faucet that would just turn and turn and not allow water to come out but she was so frustrated with it and other maintenance workers were called in and just watched her not helping at all. She was so aggravated that she was very loud and finally got management to come in and compensate us for all the issues. She didnt have to do that but felt horrible about the disrepair of the room.


• (5/5) We moved from our 2 bedroom to a studio for our last night. Bell Services kept our luggage until we returned to the hotel at 8 p.m. that night, but they do not deliver it to your room unless you are there to accept it. Every cast member we encountered was pleasant and cheerful. No one stood out, but maybe that it because everyone had a consistently high level of service, kindness and thoughtfulness.


• (5/5) We didn't have a lot of interaction with cast members on this trip but on July 4th we got out of the room a bit later than normal and one of the cast members came to do the daily room check and bring us our day 4 fresh towels. He was great because he suggested some good places to watch the 4th of July fireworks at the resort that night since we were not braving the parks at fireworks times. We took one of his suggestions and we watched the fireworks from the lawn near Reunion Station. They had activities for the kids and our daughter loved it!


• (5/5) Wow wow wow. The greatest cast members I’ve ever met. From one resort stay, I still remember their names, faces and the wonderful interactions we shared. From territory lounge to geyser point and everywhere we encountered cast members, it was just perfection. Truly felt like going back in time to a Disney of a bygone era. Those buses and ferries brought us right back into 2019 though.

• (5/5) Bell services was very accommodating with our extensive bags (for a quick weekend with 2 kids we had way too many things!), and with arranging a roll-away crib. Cast members at Geyser Point, Roaring Fork and Whispering Canyon were all very accommodating and personable. The gals at the gift shop were so sweet to my daughter and helped her find the Wishables she wanted.


• (3/5) We really had very little interaction with cast members at the resort. I would say our servers at the restaurants were nothing special. We were celebrating my niece's 21st bday and it was noted on every reservation. It was barely recognized and sometimes not at all. This has not been our experience in the past.


• (2/5) I was on crutches due to an injury I had the night before my stay while we were traveling from Arizona. I was trying to rent a simple wheelchair just to be able to get out from valet parking to the lobby , we ask 3 different cast members an no one could help us. Everyone just limited to say “we don’t have anything available” … my husband had to pay money under the table in order for cast members to help getting us a wheelchair which I am very thankful for………money was not an issue for us but it was unbelievable what we had to go thru in order to make it to my room




• Room Cleanliness: 22/25


• (15/25) Felt the room could have/should have been cleaned a bit more. Appeared as though the team was rushed for time and just did the minimum versus taking the time to thoroughly clean by making sure all dishes, counter tops/rooms were cleaned and sanitized as though we were the first people to occupy the room


• (15/25) You could really tell the room was in need of a reno, and a DVC representative over at the Grand Floridian told us that Boulder Ridge is actually next up for renos after Saratoga is done. The pull-out bed in the couch didn't have much life left in the mattress, the trundle bed under the TV was a little scuffed, and the overall condition of the furniture had seen better days. Our toilet broke two days into our stay (the tank separated from the bowl), and every time you flushed, it would spray you and the wall with water. They didn't fix it, and instead just brought us more towels to sop up the wet.


• (20/25) We had a plumbing issue during our stay, however it was quickly rectified and we came back to an unexpected gift from the Ganachery.

• (20/25) The room was ok. We were on the 5th floor and on the morning of our first full day we received a knock at the door and were told that we had a leak in our closet. The closet was absolutely SOAKED!! 2 maintenance men came in to put a large floor dryer in the closet and would return later in the day to check on us and collect the dryer. 6 days later..NOONE ever checked on us or came in to shut off or get the dryer (of course we turned the dryer off ourselves.)

• (25/25) After listening to Pete's review, I made sure to check the kitchen cupboards right away - all super clean and clear! I always inspect the toilets and sinks. Incredibly clean and well kept, from the bedrooms, to the bathrooms, to the kitchen.

• (20/25) Boulder Ridge Villas are due for the renovations that are scheduled for next year. We were able to book a trip through a DVC friend at a very reasonable rate. Paying full price for these rooms would be a disappointment.




• Room Decor: 8/10


• (8/10) As stated above, the furniture looked well-used. The studio rooms are laid out very strangely--the bathrooms are very small, the closet is in a weird space, and there isn't a lot of storage. Also, if you have a stroller or any sort of mobility aid, there isn't really a place to store it except for right in front of the door.


• (8/10) I don’t love the wilderness and dark tones, but the room worked. Was a b dated, I’m curious to see how they will update it during the next refurbishment.

• (4/10) The room itself needs a complete makeover. The furnishings are old and definitely need to be replaced. Our room was very dark and our balcony was dark as well. You couldn't sit outside and see anything because the balcony was completely enclosed.

• (8/10) It was cute but needs redone all the way. I saw a sneak peak of the Copper Creek rooms as we roamed the hotel and I just hope the refurb isn't as sterile. I love the West theme and I hope they can keep some of the character with IP and updating rooms. Wish they would do pull down murphys instead of awful sofa beds like the Riviera is doing now.


• (8/10) We enjoyed the space of our two bedroom villa. Big closets, large bathrooms, open areas to move. Yes, the furniture is a little dated but it was clean and comfortable. Each of my family members commented on the furniture design (ie. carvings in the headboards, light fixture designs). The kitchen cupboards are not deep and I had to request a kettle. The other issue I had in our two bedroom villa is that the balcony only extended out from the 2 queen bedroom and the main area. We did not have a balcony off the master bedroom. As our kids stayed in the two queen bedroom, we did not use that balcony at all.


• (8/10) The room was stunning. In keeping with the style of boulder ridge but in need of an upgrade. There is a way I’m sure of making it look rustic without having it look like it’s 1976


• (6/10) I really miss the original decor. It fit the story of the villas and it was very charming with all the mixed pattern. The refurb is a neutral brown color scheme and rather boring. It’s behind the times compared to the other refurbed rooms I’ve stayed in. In need of a bigger tv and a true update as long as it regains its charm and couldn’t be mistaken for any other room in any other resort in the US

• Lobby / Common Areas: 5/5


• (4/5) On a personal note, the Lobby at Wilderness Lodge is always over run with people either waiting for the transportation at check out or waiting for their room at check in. It is not a very peaceful spot. On the other hand, the lobby area at the Villas at Boulder Creek is very quiet and relaxing.


• (5/5) The main lobby is always gorgeous, and even with it raining a couple days, the floors were never wet. We really loved how pristine the main areas were in the Boulder Ridge section was. The pools were well-stocked with towels, and beautiful.

• (5/5) The lobby in Wilderness Lodge is beautiful! The lobby in the DVC side is quaint and cozy. I was hesitant to stay at this resort, as I’m not really an outdoorsy girl, but found this space really comforting inviting. I loved the “hang out” enclave, filled with games and trains. I also really liked the bathroom in this lobby, it was super clean! Finally I loved having the gym, Sturdy Branches, right there. The room did not have a full length mirror in it (gasp), so I’d go in there to check myself out before heading off for the day! (I wasn’t actually working out, but the equipment looked lovely and the mirrors were quite useful!)

• (5/5) Absolutely beautiful at Christmas. My absolute favourite area was the covered walkway to Boulder Ridge and its peaceful lobby. If you are lucky enough to enter that walkway when no one else is around, the music turns on once you set foot into the walkway! One would never know that this was a busy time of year as Boulder Ridge had peaceful music, a serene atmosphere and lots of open space. There was always a cozy rocking chair open, always an elevator ready for us and the outdoor walkways were full of wide open space! The only complaint I have is the electrical water pageant that comes by at 9:30 every night. The music is from the 70s as are the floats. On night one it was fun. Thereafter it was just a really loud 20 minute synthesizer show the disturbed the peace of the resort.

• (15/15) The theme and design throughout this resort is very original. My favourite area is the bridge over Copper Creek. It was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. Although the main lobby at Wilderness Lodge was quite busy, it was super clean and well cared for. If you do stay through Christmas week, plan to have your family take advantage of the photographers take your picture in front of the grand Christmas tree.

• (15/15) We had asked for a special cleaning for our villa because of our son's asthma. I met the young woman who had cleaned it and she was awsome . She related to me the fact she knew the importance of a good cleaning and it was obvious she took pride in her work.

• (4/5) Geyser Peak is fantastic but I am still not excited about the quick service choices.


• (3/5) Only ate at the quick service for breakfast but I wasn’t too impressed with the choices and I did not like what I got. The my Disney experience messed up with my mobile order and no one was able to explain how to fix it.


• (5/5) We love Roaring Forks as a quick service location. The options are diverse, and I've never had a bad meal there. Whispering Canyon is a fun experience, and the food is quite good.


• (5/5) Some of the best dining options here. Geyser Point is amazing. Such a fun mix of a sit down and pool bar, in a beautiful setting. The crab cake sandwich and waffle fries were delicious. For a quick service, Roaring Fork is top notch. The standard Disney breakfast, with a few upgrades (assorted waffle toppings) can be found here. Despite some awesome reviews, Whispering Canyon Cafe was not my favorite. I found the food to be lackluster and mediocre and our server seemed to forget about us. But Storybook Dining was where it was at! It has changed since I was there but I loved everything about it then!

• (5/5) Love the food. Something for everyone in my family- healthy grilled items and fresh salads and vegetables as well as great sandwiches and delicious bakery items that changed each day. I don't think we were able to try everything even being there 7 days. Geyser Grill is amazing and just wish they had more table tops to seat people because it is a beautiful location for a meal.


• (5/5) We welcomed Roaring Fork's Americano every morning! Especially on MK mornings because no one wanted to stand in an hour line at MK's Starbucks. You could purchase a healthy breakfast or lunch for less than $12 (which is $16 for us Canadians). There was never a line up, even during Christmas week. We also ate at Whispering Canyon on our first night. So much food! We ate here 5 years ago and we appreciated that they now have more diverse options in the skillets. We appreciated the plant based skillet option. Beware that the kids menu portions are super sized! We also ate at Storybook Dining. All four of us enjoyed it immensely and we gave up character meals quite some time ago. My 9 and 13 year olds still enjoyed the quick visit with the characters but really had fun with the Queen at the end of the dinner. She is a very talented actress. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The presentation was unlike anything we had experienced. The mushroom bisque was delightful and half of our family does not eat mushrooms otherwise. The kids appetizer platter was outstandingly designed and very healthy. They accommodated my husband's gluten sensitivity without a problem and it was very tasty still! My daughter had the gnocchi and it was the perfect meal for a teenager. We had the chicken and while it was a small portion, there was so much other food that it ended up being sized just right. We had a table near the window which helped our family not feel terribly squished in the restaurant. I would recommend it if using the dining plan.


• (5/5) We ate two meals at Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Once for lunch on our arrival day and one night for dinner. Both times were very good but not outstanding. We ate at Roaring Fork on our arrival night for dinner and it was your average, resort quick service food for Disney. We had drinks and desert at Territory Lounge one night and the desert was amazing! It was a seasonal fruit cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream served warm. The berries were very fresh and it was not too sweet. I would definitely go back there for that desert.


• (5/5) We are sit at the bar and shoot the breeze with the bartenders people and there are so many great options for that at this resort. The great thing though is how fantastic the food is even if you’re down for something casual.

• (5/5) Quick Service roaring fork has always surprised me with nice options, and they change often it seems. Geyser Point, one of the best outdoor bar lounge restaurants. The setting and the food are great. Whispering Canyon, ate once. Food seems not fresh but its a fun atmosphere especially with kids (age 7 and up).


• (5/5) Artists point was very good, we had the dining plan so we canceled one of our meal options so we actually ate twice here. The character experience really fun. The food was excellent. Our waitor, Martin was top notch. It was also impressive as you seen the manager helping bus tables, very hands on. Also ate at Whispering canyon, it would have been nice if we had more time there. It was our last day & had to catch the Magic Transportation back to airport so we had to hurry. The cafe was really nice also, lots of options.

• (4/5) Like geyser point as good as any bar food we've had, and the location is wonderful. Other food options where limited due to the " illness" and we are not big fans of whispering canyon.


• (5/5) We LOVED Geyser Point. Tried breakfast at the Whispering Canyon for the first time which was really good (too much food, but the biscuits and gravy were amazing). We do miss the “entertainment” for the kids in the restaurant. We really miss Artist Point.

• Pools and Recreation: 9/10


• (10/10) The main pool is beautiful, but the DVC pool is what really shines. Loved the zero-entry and the decor. And while we don't take advantage of it, the fishing and walking paths are neat to have on-property.

• (6/10) I was here a few years back when they were updating the pool area. It is definitely underwhelming. It is very small, the bar is now moved to Geyser point which is further away to get a drink, The slide is very small. Not much to write home about.


• (10/10) Love, love, love the quiet pool. It is stunning. My favorite memories of the trip are with the kids at the quite pool. The cabanas are exceptional, and my 70 year old father loved them. The kids and my dad loved the theming of the hot tub at the quiet pool.

• (8/10) The main pool seems small for the resort size and the Villa pool lacked enough seating. It was pretty chaotic and because of that lack of pool space and loungers we only visited once. We had fun with other standard WDW activities because of constant pool closures due to weather. The Cast Members who led these activities were really great and made it fun for everyone.


• (8/10) Given the rain and temperatures during Christmas week, my kids only used the pool once. The water slide is not as exciting as those at the Kidani Village pool at AKL, but the theming around the pool is nice. Apparently the pools were quite cool as well. Although we did not take advantage of it due to early park mornings, we would have liked to enjoy the complementary yoga classes twice per week in the fitness studio. I do not recall being offered that option in the other DVC resorts we have stayed at.

• (8/10) The seating is a little awkward in the main pool area, specifically the left side as you face the resort. It's a little difficult to keep an eye on less experienced swimmers and also relax at the same time unless you keep them on one side.

• (8/10) Depending on the park, we often sat for over 45 minutes for a bus. We preferred taking the boat to MK and catching the monorail somewhere else.


• (10/10) Love the boat to MK and the convenience of being so close to the monorail at the Contemporary. The buses are rarely full, and it's not a long ride to any of the other areas on property.


• (8/10) Boats are great. Busses can be infrequent, so we have adapted the use of rideshare to some destinations. Ok for a party of 2, but could be better


• (8/10) We enjoyed taking the boat over to the Magic Kingdom. We never had to wait long for a boat to come along. It was such a nice ride too.

• (10/10) I had heard horror stories of bus transportation but we had nothing but excellent service. After staying at Poly the year before we loved how close WL bus stops were at each park bus depot and how frequently they came. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes (and that's wonderful in the steamy August heat). The boat ride to MK was my favorite and I just love the skippers. It's so relaxing and an attraction in itself.


• (8/10) I anticipated that the bus transportation during Christmas week would be delayed, packed and otherwise avoided. I had planned to Uber to the parks. Turns out we never needed to use Uber. The only park we drove to was DHS due to the early morning ROTR virtual boarding passes. We took buses to and from every other park. The only time we were packed into a bus was coming home from Disney Springs. Total surprise for the week.


• (10/10) One of the selling points of this resort, in my opinion, is the boat to Magic Kingdom. Then if you want to go to EPCOT you can take the boat to Magic Kingdom and the monorail to EPCOT. It is also nice to have boat access to the Contemporary. We had dinner at California Grille one night on this trip and it was a nice part of the experience to get there via boat. We like to take different modes of transportation on our trips because we feel like that is part of the fun and magic of Disney World. We live in Florida and go several times per year so we are not in a huge hurry to get to the parks and do everything all in one day because we have the luxury of going so often.

• (8/10) Always the boat to MK never have taken the bus. The buses to the other parks can sometimes be slow and crowded if we share with FW or CR. We have waited as much as 45 minutes to get on one.

• (8/10) Wish they would add extra boats around Wilderness lodge, the fort, contemporary, Magic kingdom loops...the boats are an awesome way to travel. Too much wasted time (and money for Dis actually), by keeping people waiting for the next boat. But this goes for all of the mentioned resorts and the boat options, not specific to here.


• (8/10) The busses to Animal Kingdom were a longer wait as farthest away. Otherwise we did not have a problem with the busses.


• (10/10) Its big for me to have two transportation options wherever I stay and both the busses and the water taxi were great and easily accessible.

• (8/10) We utilized the boats to magic Kingdom and the busses to the parks. We did not have to wait more than 20 minutes.


• (4/10) Boat to Magic Kingdom was excellent - minimal wait time - happy with that. However, Bus transportation to the other 3 parks was horrible. long waits to and from the parks (had to wait 30-45 minutes at times for bus to even show) and very crowded.

• (10/10) We own DVC there, and stayed on DVC points, but we have paid cash in the past, and always found that it was a very good value for the money. Its the most reasonable deluxe resort in the Magic Kingdom area.

• (10/10) I feel like WDW resorts are similar to a cruise and everything is there at your disposal. Plenty of food options, great service, activities at the resort, and some shops to peruse. Great experience.


• (10/10) GFV is our home resort and we had booked a 1 bedroom during Christmas week at our home resort at the 11 month mark. However, for the exact same around of points, we could get a 2 bedroom at BRV. We waitlisted BRV and it came through 5 months prior to our arrival date. The space in the villa, the less busy resort (during Christmas week), the dining and ease of transportation - this was so much more value for our points.

• (8/10) I thought the studios would be a little nicer, bigger in general for DVC, but this was not just related to Boulder. Thought the other studio at Poly would be nicer also. Pictures on internet a little deceiving.


• (4/10) We stayed in a studio with a pull out sofa and extra bed in the tv stand. The pull out sofa had the thinnest mattress possible and you could feel every spring in the bed. it was awful for the 2 girls sleeping there.


• (8/10) As a DVC member that stayed with points we found it in the middle on point costs. We believe AK is just as detailed and with better did options will costing me points was the way to go. BW also has lower point costs but not themed as well


• (10/10) Rates were fine for a studio booked last minute. The grounds and property make this resort worth every penny.


• (6/10) The limited options due to COvid do not warrant the same price at this time.


• (8/10) I think that the money it costs to go to Disney was not worth it this time. Lines at theme park attractions were all atleast 1 hour wait. parks not open as long and the crowds were unreal. if the parks are not at full capacity at this time, I'd hate to see what it looks like at full capacity!
