To manage attendance at the Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney now utilizes a reservation system. Theme park reservations and valid admission are both required in order to enter any of the 4 major Walt Disney World theme parks. Attendance is subject to availability. Theme park reservations are not required for date-based tickets. A date-based ticket requires you to choose a start date upon purchase.
Guests are able to make reservations using a reservation calendar via the My Disney Experience app or on the official Disney website.
No Theme Park Reservation Required
Theme Park Reservation Required
Guests will need to link their theme park tickets in their My Disney Experience accounts before they'll be able to make theme park reservations. Guests should also link any upcoming resort reservations. Making sure to complete this step will enable guests to receive important communication and information regarding their vacations. Follow the link above for more detailed information on how to use My Disney Experience, including Lightning Lane details.
Guests with a ticket with Park Hopper benefits or an Annual Pass can visit another theme park at any time of day during park hours (subject to capacity limitations). Theme park reservations may be required for Annual Passholders and guests with certain non-dated tickets (see above)to enter their first park. After they enter their first park, they will be able to visit other theme parks.
GOOD-TO-GO DAYS
Good-to-go days are select days when Passholders may visit a Walt Disney World theme park without needing a theme park reservation (subject to pass blockout dates and capacity limitations).
Passholders can see good-to-go days displayed on the theme park reservation calendar, the Annual Passholder admissions calendar, and on the ome screen of the My Disney Experience app (if their pass is linked to their Disney account).
Good-to-go days are added periodically, so if there is a specific date you're hoping for, be sure to check often. Good-to-go days may be released days or weeks in advance.
If a Passholder has an upcoming theme park reservation that becomes a good-to-go day, they will still be able to view their previous reservation in the My Plans section in My Disney Experience, but the reservation will be removed and no longer count against their maximum reservation hold.
Here are a few important details to know about this system:
Once you’ve logged into your My Disney Experience account and linked your park ticket, you’ll have access to a calendar of available reservation dates for each theme park. If you have a multi-day ticket, you will be required to make a park reservation for each date of your visit. Families and friends can link their tickets together and look to arrange theme park entries at the same time.
It's important to note that park reservations are subject to availability. Availability can change until the reservation is finalized. Guests with tickets that include the Park Hopper Option or Park Hopper Plus Option can visit a second theme park on the same day after 2:00 p.m. but they must've already visited their first park of the day before they can hop to another.
