Guests aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships have countless snacks to choose from, and most are included with your cruise fare. From salty to sweet to savory, they’re all there. However, if you’re in the mood for hand-dipped ice cream or gelato in gourmet, over-the-top flavors, head to deck 11 aft on the newer Disney ships. There’s a shangri-la of sweet snacks waiting there for you. It’ll cost you a bit extra, but, if you’re in the mood for something extravagantly sweet, it just might be worth it.

Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats can be found on the Disney Dream, just outside of Cabanas buffet. A sister shop, Sweet on You, can be found on the Disney Fantasy. All of the treats offered at Vanellope’s and Sweet on You are available to guests at an extra charge.

As soon as you walk into Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats, you’re greeted by King Candy, Vanellope’s race car, and, of course, Vanellope herself. The space looks exactly as you would imagine that a Wreck it Ralph-themed ice cream shop would look.

There are brightly colored fixtures, candy-striped poles, “gas pumps” filled with candy, and rows upon rows of tempting treats of all shapes and sizes. If you have a sweet tooth (or five), this is your place. In addition to the bakery and ice cream treats, bulk candy is available for purchase. All of your favorites are offered, as are pre-packaged treats and snacks.

Vanellope’s has sundaes, milkshakes, and confections on offer, in addition to simple scoops of their not-so-simple gelato and ice cream flavors.

Gelato flavors such as Candy Explosion, Banana Cream Pie, Caramel Sea Salt, and Espresso Toffee Crunch and ice cream flavors like Unicorn, King Candy, and Butterscotch Oatmeal, Strawberry Shortcake, Sour Patch, and Brownie Batter conspire to send you into sugar overload.

Upon entering the shop, Sean, Madeline (Pete’s wonderful mom), my hubby, and I took a few minutes to get our bearings. Guests who step into Vanellope’s have a lot of decisions to make, and choices abound all around. Take your time, weigh out the sugar-ladened opportunities, and choose wisely. Perhaps our choices can help you make yours.
Miss Madeline chose the Hero’s Journey Sundae ($6). It’s a combination of Mint Chocolate Chip and Midnight Cookies & Cream ice cream enrobed in gobs of chocolate fudge sauce, and topped with brownie chunks, whipped cream, a Vanellope’s chocolate square, and a cherry.

What did Madeline think of her sundae? Let’s just say that she wasn’t disappointed. The picture below says it all.

Madeline loves Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, so she knew that the Hero’s Journey would be the one for her. She ordered the sundae as-is, without making any substitutions. She also loved that additional whipped cream was found at the bottom of the sundae. Who doesn’t love a surprise treat?

Sean decided to begin his time at Vanellope’s with one of their milkshakes. He enjoys pistachio ice cream, so that was naturally the flavor that he gravitated to when he was asked what type of milkshake he’d like. He loved his milkshake, and thought it tasted very nutty. Vanellope’s also offers a specialty milkshake of the day for $7.25. The specialty milkshake the day we stopped by was Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and it came topped with a chocolate glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut. Yummm. I’ll see you next time, Chocolate Fudge Brownie milkshake.

For my treat, I chose the Vanellope’s Go-Kart Sundae ($12.95). This treat comes with three scoops of ice cream (your choice of flavors), five toppings, whipped cream, cherries, two Vanellope’s chocolate squares, and a white chocolate Ralph Breaks the Internet-themed logo piece. Great googly moogly.
![IMG_2467 – The DIS Saturday Snacks: Vanellope's Sweets and Treats on the Disney Dream IMG_2467 IMG_2467](https://www.wdwinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/IMG_2467.jpg)
It was actually tough to choose five toppings in addition to everything that already came included in the price of the sundae. This dessert is perfect for sharing (thankfully, I had my hubby’s help in that area), and it’s a great keepsake for any Vanellope or Wreck it Ralph fan. Guests who purchase this sundae get to keep the go-kart, and can bring their go-kart back to the shop after finishing the sundae for a “car wash.”

This was so very good. If you’ve got a hankering for hand-dipped ice cream, this little baby will satisfy your sweet tooth. It was chilly on the day that we visited Vanellope’s, so sitting at a table on deck wasn’t a viable option. Thankfully, Vanellope’s guests were able to have a seat at a table in Cabanas as it was in between meal times. Many thanks to the crew members for letting us eat our treats indoors.

The biggest sundae offered at Vanellope’s is the Ralph’s Family Challenge Sundae ($14.95). This mammoth dessert features six scoops of ice cream in your choice of flavors, six toppings of your choice, whipped cream, white chocolate Ralph Breaks the Internet logo piece, dark chocolate Vanellope’s squares, and cherries. Guests ordering this sundae get to keep the souvenir trophy cup. Also, if you’d like to, you can preorder sundaes like the Ralph’s Family Challenge and Vanellope’s Go-Kart Sundae and have them delivered to your rotational dining location just in time for dessert.

Vanellope’s also offers a huge selection of bakery treats, and has two cases filled with everything from specialty cupcakes and macarons to cake pops and fudge. Sean chose two of these treats for the table to try during our visit.
![IMG_2500 – The DIS Saturday Snacks: Vanellope's Sweets and Treats on the Disney Dream IMG_2500 IMG_2500](https://www.wdwinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/IMG_2500.jpg)
Sean picked out a Minnie’s Cake Pop ($4.50) and a Hazelnut-filled Doughnut to try. Both treats are large enough for sharing, and we at the table were glad to do our part.
![IMG_2508 – The DIS Saturday Snacks: Vanellope's Sweets and Treats on the Disney Dream IMG_2508 IMG_2508](https://www.wdwinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/IMG_2508.jpg)
Unfortunately, the Minnie’s Cake Pop fell short of expectations. The pop was half rice krispie treat, and half cake. Sean did not enjoy the flavors of the cake pop as a whole, and I agreed with him. The overly sweet raspberry-ish coating did not taste good, and, overall, the snack fell flat when compared to the other treats.

The Hazelnut-filled Doughnut was a winner in Sean’s book. It’s a chocolate glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut that’s been sliced in half and filled with a whipped hazelnut cream and topped with a white chocolate Ralph Breaks the Internet logo piece. What’s not to love?
