Ten Walt Disney World Resort restaurants will now begin accepting dining reservations on OpenTable, an online restaurant-reservation service. Jiko at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Olivia’s Café at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Big River Grille at BoardWalk Inn, Flying Fish at BoardWalk Inn, Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian, Boatwright’s at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside, The Wave at the Contemporary Resort, Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, and Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge are the participating restaurants.
A number of Disney Springs restaurants that aren’t Disney owned and operated have been using OpenTable for some time now.
Additionally, at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, the Wind & Waves Grill will be available for booking via OpenTable.
While this may change, the main difference between OpenTable and booking a traditional Advance Dining Reservation directly through Disney is that OpenTable doesn’t charge guests to cancel a reservation, nor does it expect guests to supply credit card information.
There are some other slight differences, for example, the booking window is much shorter on OpenTable, at a little over a month than the 180-day booking window through Disney.
