5 Ways to find Romance in Walt Disney World for Valentine’s Day

5 Ways to find Romance in Walt Disney World for Valentine's Day Port-Orleans-Riverside-059

In this article, we’re going to discuss some of the romantic sides of the Walt Disney World Resort!

1. Dine at a Walt Disney World Hotel

Take a break from the parks and make a dining reservation at one of the resort restaurants. I’d recommend a restaurant at one of the deluxe resorts. Dine at Sanaa at Kidani Village of Animal Kingdom Lodge and enjoy diverse food while watching the animals through the windows. When you’re done with your meal, take a stroll around the resort, see how many animals you can find and watch the sunset over the Savannah.

Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian is another good choice. The restaurant is located right on the water.  If you make a reservation during Magic Kingdom fireworks, you can view them from outside on the restaurant’s patio. You’ll also be able to see the Electrical Water Pageant that traverses Bay Lake.

Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club is also an excellent restaurant. After you are finished eating, enjoy a stroll along the Boardwalk. You can time it so you end up at Epcot’s International Gateway right as the fireworks go off.

2. Meet some Disney couples

Go right to the source for some romance tips and meet some famous Disney couples! At the Magic Kingdom, in the afternoon you can meet Tiana and Naveen from The Princess and the Frog. This couple is a lot of fun together, they joke around and play off each other and are super entertaining.

Jasmine and Aladdin meet together in Morocco at Epcot. Their line can get pretty long, so it is best to look up their meeting times on the MDE app and line up before a set starts. Ask them if they have plans for Valentine’s Day, maybe they’ll let you borrow a carpet for a spin around the clouds that night.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the top Disney power couple here: Mickey and Minnie! The only park to meet these two lovebirds together is Animal Kingdom, drop by and ask them how they plan on spending Valentine’s! FastPasses for the meet are available.

As a hilarious bonus stop, I’d find Lady Tremaine and Cinderella’s two stepsisters in the Magic Kingdom to find out what their plans for the day involved. I imagine the answer to this question could be very amusing.

3. Plan a day of your significant other’s Disney favorites

Surprise your significant other with a day full of their favorites! Try to cover their favorite rides in each park, this could mean you start the day at Animal Kingdom riding Expedition Everest and end it with a cruise around Tomorrowland on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.  Make sure to take them to meet their most beloved character.  If that happens to be a character like Mickey or Donald, you could make sure they meet that character in each park wearing a different outfit.  Take in their favorite show, make sure to show up early to get great seats.  Surprise them with dining reservations at their top restaurant.  You can end the night by presenting them with their favorite snack during their favorite nighttime show.  Make the day all about them and you can’t go wrong!

4. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride

Visit Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to share a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the woods with your date. Forests not so much your thing? Reserve a carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside Resort instead and enjoy your ride through the picturesque landscapes of New Orleans. Make sure to reserve your ride in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.   Find more information on WDWInfo.

5. Movie on the beach

Pack some drinks and snacks and relax at your resort to watch a nighttime movie on the big screen. All Disney resorts offer free nightly Disney movies. The screen is usually set up near the hotel pool with plenty of lounge chairs. Grab a few chairs and drag them together and you have a lovely movie night under the stars with your date. If you are lucky enough to be staying at Disney’s Yacht or Beach Club Resorts, enjoy the movie out on the beach next to the lagoon. Afterward, you can claim one of the swings on the beach and watch the moonlight over the water.

Any choice you make, you are sure to have an amazing Valentine’s Day with your date!  After all, you are at the most magical place on earth.  Let me know in the comments how you would spend the perfect Disney Valentine’s day.
