Fun Facts About the Tangled Rest Area in the Magic Kingdom

Fun Facts About the Tangled Rest Area in the Magic Kingdom IMG_0217

In 2010, Disney created a new love for long braided hair, chameleons, lanterns, and the combination of the colors purple and yellow. Tangled was all the rage, and, as a result, Walt Disney World decided to create an area in the Magic Kingdom based on the movie. When they first announced a Tangled project, many thought immediately about a ride or a stage show, but instead, a rest area with bathrooms was created. Disney did a fantastic job with this area and left a few surprises for guests to find.

Location

Perfectly nestled between Fantasyland and Liberty Square, the Tangled rest area provides a space to allow crowds to disperse and easily maneuver their way to the bathroom. Especially with fan favorite ride, Peter Pan’s Flight, just up the way, the crowds can get intense, but this perfectly spread out spot allows for ways to move around and relax. If you can’t stand “it’s a small world”, then this is the perfect spot for you to sit and wait for your party to depart on the happiest cruise.

What To Look For

There are many odes to Tangled throughout this area besides the obvious lanterns and purple and gold paintings. The next time you are in this wonderful space, look for Flynn’s frying pan as well as hidden Pascals all around the area. Make sure you pay close attention because, as we all know, Pascal is a master at hide and seek. According to cast members, there are 10+ Pascal figurines that you can find in this area.

Photo Opportunities

More recently, Disney has created a PhotoPass location at this rest area. On most nights, right in the front as you pass by Peter Pan’s meet and greet, you can find a PhotoPass photographer with a Tangled lantern. You can take the picture solo or with your loved one or friends, and have a great keepsake for the Tangled fans in your life. This experience only happens at night, and the lines can get fairly long, so make sure you check the My Disney Experience app to see what time the PhotoPass photographer will begin taking pictures. Outlets

In this technological age, many people are using their phones for everything: maps, cameras, location services, etc. So, naturally, phone batteries die fairly quickly in the parks. Disney decided to put hidden outlets inside artificial tree stumps in the Tangled rest area. Many people walking past would not even notice these outlets. But look under the tree seats, have a seat, and recharge your phone’s batteries…and your battery, too.
