For young couples without children or parents that want to relax outside of the parks, it can be hard to find a Disney World Resort Hotel that has adult-centered activities without little kids running around the lobby and screaming at the pool. However, there are a few hotels that can give you and your partner a relaxing and fun vacation. Book at one of these resorts if you’re looking for a quiet and romantic stay:
5. Port Orleans Riverside
This beautiful sprawling resort will immerse you and your partner in the antebellum South. You can get lost on strolls around the grounds to escape the hectic parks. Although the bars and restaurants here are underwhelming, you can take a ferry down the Sassagoula River directly to Disney Springs for a date night. Being a moderate resort, Port Orleans Riverside can offer couples plenty of amenities at an affordable price.
4. Port Orleans French Quarter
Staying in Port Orleans, French Quarter offers similar amenities to couples as Riverside does, but immerses you in an even more romantic atmosphere — with even less kids! If you really want to escape the park crowds and screaming children, stay at this quaint mid-size resort that transports you to Mardi Gras New Orleans. Lounge in the calmer pools and eat a beignet with your partner before you catch the boat to Disney Springs.
3. Animal Kingdom Lodge
If you really want to amaze your partner, book a room facing the safari. Nothing beats drinking your morning cup of coffee on a balcony just feet away from giraffes. This brilliantly themed resort will make you feel like you’re in Africa, and its remote location will definitely help you escape the crowds. You can take relaxing afternoon strolls around the grounds and look at the animals before you eat some of the best cuisine on Disney property. Try Boma or Sanaa for authentic African flavors or Jiko if you really want to treat your partner. Between the theming, activities and dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge you will have a wonderful, romantic vacation.
2. Grand Floridian
Most people might be surprised that this wasn’t number one on my list — and that’s totally fair. The Grand Floridian is Disney’s flagship resort with elegant theming, the prettiest rooms, views of Magic Kingdom and the nighttime fireworks, fine dining and virtually no loud kids. You make a statement by bringing your partner here. The moment you walk in, the Victorian-style lobby stuns you and invites you in to explore the beautifully manicured grounds, calm pools and romantic beach that faces Cinderella’s castle. You can have a magical vacation and never leave the resort. Narcoossee’s and Citrico’s can give you memorable dining experiences, but if you want to wow your partner, take them to Victoria & Albert’s. This consistently nationally-recognized restaurant features some of the best fine dining in the country and could give you and your partner an unbeatable dinner. Stay here if you really want to make a grand gesture.
1. Beach Club
This resort perfectly blends relaxation with energy. You can lounge in a beach hammock or slide down the largest resort water slide in Stormalong Bay, the largest resort pool. The beautifully themed Beach Club immerses you in a New England beach town that offers many amenities for couples. With newly renovated rooms and views overlooking Disney’s Boardwalk, it’ll be hard to leave property. Yet it’s so convenient to do so with a 15-minute walk to Hollywood Studios and a 5-minute walk to Epcot’s World Showcase, the best park area for adults. Walk over in the morning for an amazing breakfast at Les Halles in the France pavilion. Or take a short ferry to Disney’s Boardwalk for a date night with top-notch cuisine at Flying Fish and fun bars like AbracadaBAR. Treat yourself to some of the best ice cream in Disney World at Beaches & Cream or over at Ample Hills. And if you really want to pull out all the stops for your partner, take them to dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse for arguably one of the best cuts of meat on property. No matter what kind of vacation you’re after, the Beach Club can give you a relaxing, fun and romantic trip.
