Notes: Room
My husband and I always stay in a verandah room but this was a last minute trip so we did the guarantee inside room and were assigned 1037. It was a deluxe inside room which had 214 sqft and a split bath. The bedding and decor had been updated to match the new Disney ships. We noticed everything felt cramped compared to a verandah room with 268 sqft. Being on deck 1 equalled a constant vibration in the floor but that didn't bother us. The problem was the noise. It sounded like a horn that lasted about 5 seconds and reoccured every 15 minutes, sometimes more often. We assumed it was the signal of large machinery turning on or off. It happened all day and night and woke me up all night long. Obviously, a lot of people must complain about this because the new ships, Dream and Fantasy, were designed without guest staterooms on deck 1. There was also a lot of noise in the hall outside our door from kids and doors slamming. The ceiling above the bed was pretty beat up and bent in the corners and the bathroom didn't look new or refurbished at all. On the positive side, the room was spotless and there was a ton of storage, more than in a verandah room. Being forward didn't make us sea sick and it was great being right by the front elevators which no one ever uses. Also, I liked the setup of the living area first and the bed in the back. In the larger rooms the setup is reversed. |

Notes: My family of four had this room on a recent 8 night cruise. There was more than enough room for us to unpack all our stuff and store our suitcases in the closet. We didn't find any damage to the room at all. It was in a very quiet location and we had almost no traffic going by our door. Every so often we would hear a mechanical sort of noise but it wasn't very bothersome. It wasn't loud enough to wake us up if we were sleeping. This room was close to the forward elevators and we almost never had to wait long to be picked up. The only problem (if I can even call it that) with this room was outlet placemnet. We needed to borrow an extension cord from guest services in order for my husband to plug in his cpap machine. There is no outlet near the bed. Otherwise this was the perfect room. |

Notes: Loved the location! Forward elevators are never busy. Some mechanical noise when docking as well as some at night, but didn't find it terribly bothersome. Double steamer trunk for storage was great. Love the split bath. Convenient for some of the excursions, as often debarked on deck 1 which was right at end of our hall. NOT a connecting room, so less noise that way, though we could occasionally hear our friends staying next door in 1039 if we pressed our ear to the wall hahaha. Enough room for 1 adult, 2 teens; might go up to a bigger room if we had 2A/2Teens and were going for a week or more. Room steward didn't initially make up the bunks as we were only 3 travelers, but was very accommodating when I asked him to.
Muster station was in WD Theater on Deck 4. Easy to get to Beat Street clubs, restaurants. Was a bit of a hike to Deck 9 for food/drink station and spa/adult area, but forward elevators were rarely busy (we usually used the stairs though to keep in shape!)
Would definitely stay on this deck again, maybe a few doors further aft to see if that minimized the mechanical noise, but again it wasn't horrible. |

Notes: What a great location! I was worried when we were assigned this room. But, it was great. Loved it. Don't tell anyone, but the forward elevators are NEVER busy! We never had to wait to go to deck 9 or 10. There is a noise that you can hear a lot, like a hydraulic cylinder, but it wasn't a bother. Lots of storage. Would stay in this location again. The entertainers stayed on this floor also. We met quite of few of them. |

Notes: Very quiet room. Nice and dark during the day. Has a double bed and the sofa makes into bunk beds. No complaints. Close to the forward elevators. |

Notes: I had NO problems with this room or floor and have booked again on this floor but an outside room next time just for the light in the morning. It is really easy to sleep in when your room is super dark. The shower is small and I smacked my elbow really hard on the hand rail on the wall but I did that ONLY ONCE!! There was plenty of space and we even had a carseat. Definately get a split bathroom if you can, you can tag team when you are getting ready for dinner in a hurry! There was no noise that was bothersome and it is convienient to 2 elevators. |
