Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 1053 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 1 | Category: 10C | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 07/17/18 | ||
Notes: We had 1053 and its connecting room, 1051. Things we liked: a) connecting abilities, b) split baths, c) deck 1 is probably the quietest deck with the least traffic on the ship, d) near elevator and stairs, e) less movement when ship is rocking, f) no staterooms above you. The ONLY downside to this room is each morning, usually around 5:30am, but a couple hours earlier on the Rome/Civitavecchia day, we would hear a whine and a clunk, kind of like a motor stopping and starting. It woke us up each morning. It did not wake our kids. That being said, the Magic is overall a noisy ship, so between hearing kids thundering in the room above me and hearing weird mechanical noises that lasted about an hour, I'll take the mechanical noises. In fact, despite this, we have booked these same rooms next year. On the Med cruise, we did not miss a window or balcony at all because it's so port intensive. Also, when looking at the deck plans, it seems as though 1053 might be under the stairs (and thus I was worried I would hear people thundering down the stairs) but it actually wasn't, so this wasn't an issue. |

Notes: My family of two adults and four children were in rooms 1051 & 1053. Both rooms were fine, but there was a steady "hum" of mechanical noise. I thought this would prevent us from sleeping, but as we learned on a previous cruise, we were very tired and it did not bother us at all, but rather, found that it was actually soothing, like white noise. I don't think this room was super fabulous, but it was good. |

Notes: Just a short walk or quick elevator ride to everything. It is a connecting room but the other was ours too. The other side of the room buts up to the stairwell, sometimes heard a bit of noise, but it was minimal as there aren't many that take these stairs down. A bit of vibration felt but not enough to bother. Unsure of what was above the room, as it isn't another room but no problems with noise from that either. |
