Notes: Nice room for the price. 2 small portals rather than 1 large. Queen bed plus the couch that can sleep one. Also a bunk can be lowered from the ceiling, but we did not use it. It was neat for our kid being close to the waterline, when the winds got strong ( 40+ knots per captain), you could see water splashing by the portals. Also, we were able to look into our room in port. Portals can not be opened. The pump noise everone talks about was there, but was not a problem for us. It is very intermittant and random. I could also hear one on the other side, but it was very faint. We slept through it. A plus for this location is it is located in a dead end hallway, so not a lot of noise from the hallway. Kids from Oceanquest (deck 2) did congregate in the middle deck 1 elevator lobby, but they kept quiet enough we did not notice them. It is a few doors away from the middeck lobby, but it is difficult getting an elevator. Also, being in the middle of the ship, I believe it kept the motion down - I got seasick in Hawaii, but not on this ship. When we returned from an excursion, we were able to board and go straight to our room without using an elevator when the forward lobby was used. There was one morning where a small amount of 'black stuff' came up from the drain in the floor on the bathroom side of the split bathroom - enough to fill a shot glass. No idea what it was, it had no smell, and the staff cleaned it quickly. There was enough storage in the room for our weeks worth of clothes as well (3 of us), but to iron we had to go up to the laundry room there is not one in the room. |

Notes: If you are booked in this room do your best to get a different one. Honestly, it would be better to pick a different date than staying in 1062. The pump was so loud that it woke us up in the middle of the night about once an hour.
The noise is my only complaint about the cruise but it was really that bad. DCl really shouldn't give people that room. |

Notes: Pretty room, great room steward, but noisy, noisy, noisy. There is a hydraulic room next door, and about 5-6 times an hour, irregularly, there is a loud noise akin to airplane landing gear lowering and then coming to a grinding halt. It lasts for about 15 seconds. It is so loud, you can't hear in-room announcements. IMO, this room should not be assigned to passengers. (We were assigned to a different room after the first, sleepless, night.) |

Notes: After reading reports, I was ready to switch cabins before even boarding the ship. The larger port hole would have been nice for views, but with the two smaller ones, each of my DKs had their own window. I liked being able to close the heavy covers and lock them at night to block ALL the light from the room. We were just a couple doors from the mid-ship elevators, but we had to go to deck 2, forward or aft, then back to deck 1 to exit at ports. As for the noise, there was something like the hydraulics I read about, but it was never any louder or lasted any longer than a toilet flushing. Of course, my husband uses a CPAP machine at night, so I'm used to the humming of "white noise". By the way, you can't always get an elevator on deck one as previously posted. People get in on deck 3 or 4, going to 9, knowing it's going down. I know because when the doors opened, there's a full elevator and not one person got off on deck 1. Then we have to wait on another one. By the end, I was taking the stairs if it was less than 4 flights. |

Notes: Noisy, very noisy from some hydraulic pump. Noise came every 15 or 30 minutes loudly for 20 to 30 seconds. Not fun at 3:30 in the morning. |

Notes: Definitely noisy from the hydraulic pump. Complained to frt desk staff but they couldn't figure out what the noise was. Definitely not good for sleeping. |
