Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 1068 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 1 | Category: 9D | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 07/03/23 | ||
Notes: Very quiet and the pothole windows were really a good size - no complaints from us or the kids on the size. We got a very good view of the ongoings outside. Only drawback would be we were on Deck 1 so while at the docks, we saw mostly ground level or even just the pillars of the docks. But then again we were out and about most of the day and on port adventures so it wasn't a big deal.
The one issue potentially could be the smell of the exhaust fumes - I smelt it during the times when the boat was docking. Don't know if other decks could smell it too (I did smell it on Deck 3 when making our way to breakfast on docking days).
We chose this room because I got seasick the first cruise we went on a cruise (that room was on Deck 7) so we went low and midship. And it was perfect. No issues with seasickness and I loved how quiet it was. Room size was also sufficient with plenty of storage. |

Notes: The room was quiet. There is a faint hydrolic sound from time to time. The room is in pretty good condition. The only complaint I had is the temperature control. It was often what felt like 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the ship, even with the controller set on full cold all week. The temperature seemed to vary about 5-10 degrees throughout the night as well. That made for a little uncomfortable sleeping. We woke up hot in the middle of the night and super cold in the morning. |

Notes: What a great room!
Our family of 5 got the connecting rooms-1066 & 1068. This was our second cruise, the first one was on the Magic. While on the magic we stayed in category #3, a 1 bedroom suite with double verandah. Needless to say we were nervous to go from the top level all the way down to the bottom, but it was a last minute, tack it onto the parks splurge.
We were so surprised! The rooms were very roomy with alot of storage. Our suitcases fit under the bed and we unloaded all the contents in the drawers and still had left over room. The rooms never seemed cluttered and were bright and cheery. The portholes were plenty big for a few little faces to look out at the same time.
The porter was so very nice! We got our luggage delivered as fast as we did up in cat. 3! When we first got there, we asked for extra towels and gave him a tip...from that point on we got first class service. We got ice every afternoon and fresh towels and nifty animals on the bed.
The halls were VERY quiet. It was like living on a court. No one ever comes down there! Easy access to elevators, never had to wait as expected...often just took the stairs.
The only drawbacks would be in comparison to the one bedroom suite with seperate dressing room and walk in closet, so not too fair, but I'll still let you know. Not having a balcony was a bummer, but really not a big deal. We went to the big departure party so we were on deck, and if we wanted to see out, we just peeked out the porthole. The other drawback was the toilet. We had a "real" toilet in the category 3 room, and in the cat. one room, it was a typical boat toilet...where the slot opens up and a huge force sucks it down. Sometimes a bit smelly, but didn't really notice.
That's it! As a matter of fact, we re-booked the Magic again for January 2007 and opted out of the cat. 3 room again and re-booked the same category!
In short, you will LOVE this spacious, quiet, private room! |
