Notes: This room was amazing! It had an extended verandah in the aft, port side of the ship. It was in a very convenient location to The District and 18+ lounges as well as Animators Palate, the side entrance of Royal Palace, and Cabanas. The elevators were close by and pretty quiet. Also, for those with little ones, the youth clubs and nursery are down the hall and easily accessible. The room was mostly quiet with the only exception being when the thrusters were used to dock on some early mornings. During those times the room would vibrate and some of my party members woke up with the slight shaking. There was some rust and paint peeling on the verandah, and we did find that some of the paint from the underside of deck 11 flaked and landed on our verandah but it was cleaned up by our housekeeper during turndown. This room's verandah has a curved edge with a partition that does not extend all the way out allowing you to see your neighbor if you are standing at the railing. This didn't bother us and we actually preferred it, as the curve gave the perception of more space. |

Notes: 5156 is located in the Aft on the Starboard side of the ship. The location is excellent for access to the kids' clubs and Mid Ship Detective Agency. We did not experience any noise from the kids’ clubs or surrounding areas. The hallway is short and there is little traffic. The stateroom features an extended balcony. The height of the balcony is about 50” tall and there is plexi-glass covering the horizontal bars on the railing. It is not a white wall. Other people can see you, however privacy is not an issue for us and it is totally worth it for all of the extra space. The balcony features 2 regular chairs, 2 half loungers and a small side table. This room sleeps four people comfortably. In addition to the queen-size bed, there is a single convertible sofa and an upper pull-down berth. There is also a split bath with a tub/shower combo. The only reason I rated it a 4, rather than 5 is because the sink drain plungers didn't work and it was very dim in the entry of the room. My husband is an electrician and said the light bulbs just needed to be changed. With these two issues resolved, this room would be a 5 for sure. |

Notes: While this room was very nice and in good shape, I had to give it a 4 because of the layout of the veranda.
The room sleeps 4. Had the split baths, but does not have the round tub.
The veranda is WONDERFUL in that it is much larger than your typical veranda. As others have said, it has 4 chairs and a table on it, with room left over. Held 6 people on it without any probems.
When we cruise, we like to have "happy hour" on our veranda, which is why I like to book the extended verandas. Unfortunately in this room the veranda has a rounded corner on it. Yes, it does make the veranda appear to have more space, but because of this design, you are able to see right into the veranda next door. Fortunately for us, no one was sailing in that room on our cruise, so it wasn't an issue. I would not book 5156 or 5158 for this reason. But then again, it might not be an issue to others. |

Notes: Three of us stayed in this stateroom. 2 adults and our 1 year old. We loved this room with the extended balcony. There were 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table. The location of this rm is perfect. It's on the same deck as the kids clubs. The elevator and stairs are right around the corner. Even though we were near the elevators we didn't hear much noise when we were in our stateroom. |

Notes: This is a great room! Congrats if you booked it. The extended Verandah is a highlight. So much room out there. Location is great! Right near the aft stairs and elevator, only one floor up from the adult entertainment, but no noise. Only noise comes from vicinity to kids clubs. Sometimes I would hear kids running down the hallway, or the sound of one of their "adventures" passing by.
Our room host, Tayrone, was such a nice guy. We keep hoping to see a towel animal appear at the end of our bed here at home, but it hasnt happened yet. If you see him, tell him Shawn and Janelle, the newly-weds say hello. |

Notes: We absolutely LOVED our room. Especially loved the location and ease of getting up and down the elevator. The laundry room was right down the hall and made for quickly ironing something. |

Notes: Pro's: extended veranda is wonderful! Twice the length of other decks. Deck has 4 chairs: 2 loungers and 2 standard chairs and a small table and still plenty of room to spare! Veranda railing is curved on the left side so doesn't attach to the neighboring veranda giving the feeling of even more space.
Very convenient location to aft elevators and stairs.
Cons: stateroom sandwiched between elevator lobby/stairs and the Oceaneer Lab/Club - therefore, it gets a lot of traffic. Traffic heaviest between 6PM and 10PM with hallway conversations and running feet to be heard.
Midship Detective Agency stop location is in the elevator/stair lobby - while having the art come to life was a thrill everytime we passed the art, this adds to the traffic for this lobby area.
Also, entry hall is narrow. Closet doors on left as you enter and doors to the 2 bathrooms on the right. Can make getting dressed/ready a challenge as you can't leave doors open. This is likely the same throughout the ship but should be pointed out.
Hard pressed to give anything but an "excellent", however. The huge veranda is a definite plus! |
