Deck: 5 | Category: 9D | Location: Aft |

Notes: We enjoyed this stateroom. Felt a little rumble during docking and getting underway but nothing that bothered us. Quiet room. Easy access to aft elevators and stairs.
Loved the large porthole. |

Notes: The view and location of this stateroom are ideal, the noise and view are just terrible. Our bed was shaking one night and on our last night it was rocking for hours. You really feel the ships movements in this room. I am not sure if the waters were choppy but it was terrible. |

Notes: My sister, nephew and I stayed comfortably in this room. It has 3 beds with the murphy bed as a third bed. No upper berth pull-down bed. The bed and bathrooms are to the left side of the room when you enter. Not far from both the elevators or the laundry room. We did not hear any noise or music from night clubs below. As the previous report mentioned there were vibrations that occurred when leaving or pulling into port. I would not term it to be a big deal but worth mentioning. I did feel slight vibration while in bed during a few nights when the ship was moving but it was only a small annoyance. My sister did not seem to feel it. The window was larger that expected. Nice view. We had plenty of storage space with some cabinets left empty. No problem with fitting 3 large suitcases under the bed with room to spare. |

Notes: Overall, this stateroom has an excellent location and we were pleased. (FYI--I think this is a cat 8A stateroom, but I'm not sure.)
Many on deck 5 aft are concerned about noise. From our experience, this stateroom was not affected by the Evolution noise level at night. However, once you move further aft from this stateroom and work your way around to the starboard side of the ship, the noise level progressed from noticeable to downright unacceptable. I know this because we had friends in those staterooms and they were highly annoyed. I believe this applies all the way to the stateroom exactly opposite this one on the starboard side.
But again--to be clear--in this stateroom you should not even notice Evolution is under you. I did not, even though my friends in staterooms further aft and on the starboard side were ill to the point of visiting guest services at 1:00am for a chat.
Having said that, you will possibly be awakened when the ship moves into port. There is a moderate amount of noise and noticeable vibration from what I assume is the ship turning around and reversing the engines to back into port. It wasn't a big deal to us since we were usually getting up anyway.
As for the room itself, it has a murphy bed for the fourth bunk instead of the drop-down bunk. That bit of information might help someone decide whether this is the stateroom for them.
Additionally, the porthole view was fantastic. It is giant. My son loved sitting in the window and looking out. My wife says she likes this stateroom type better than a veranda because you don't lose interior space but still have a great view.
We had calm seas during our trip, and I had no issues with the ship's motion. |
