Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 5518 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 5 | Category: 9A | Location: Forward |
Sail Date: 03/28/18 | ||
Notes: The Magic is 20 years old and beginning to show her age despite all the TLC she receives from the crew. There are a couple of minor issues with the room, but nothing critical. It is quiet, AC works great, it is convenient to everything except the MDRs. But then, the few extra steps are important with the meals you will likely consume. There were four of us, and it is a little small now that my kids are bigger...I may need to spring for an extra cabin next trip. |
Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 5518 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 5 | Category: 9A | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 01/04/16 | ||
Notes: Nice room in a convenient location. Close to forward elevators, but not right next to them so noise and commotion was not an issue. Very quiet corner room. On the same deck as the Buena Vista theater which was a place our tweens visited frequently.
Ample space and storage in the room. Big closet. Top bunk comes down from the ceiling and is tucked away during the day. Split bathroom with sink and toilet in one and shower/tub and sink in the other.
I would request this room again. |

Notes: While 5518 has no verandah, the two portholes are much better. They serve as seats (or for small people, a place to lay down) and they really brighten the room. The downside to the room is the lack of split bathroom, but we only had three people so there wasn't much of a problem. The room is ridiculously spacious and is a wonderful place to come back to relax. It is a bit of a hike to get anywhere, and, because of the Buena Vista Theatre you need to walk along the port side until you are able to cross over to the starboard side (just remember, if you are midship, walk towards the Port Adventures desk and go past the BVT, then when you get to the forward elevators, turn right and then keep going forward. If you are aft, go in the direction of the pirate ship interactive art, then go past the kids clubs, past the BVT and turn right at the forward elevators) Once you get the hang of it, there is no problem. Don't worry about being too close to the teen club, there were never any noise issues and if you have a teen the walk is very convenient. Overall it is a great room and I'd highly recommend it. Just remember, once you scan your key, pull the door handle towards you before you push. It took me at least two days to figure out the proper way to open the door. |

Deck: 5 | Category: 8 | Location: Forward |
Sail Date: 07/05/09 | ||
Notes: As has been stated this is a great location with low traffic, since the hall dead ends. Not as much noise as in other locations. The noise from Walt Disney Theater rehearsals is acceptable and limited to daytime (we attended the shows in the evening, of course.)
Location is VERY convenient to the Walt Disney Theater, elevators/stairs, and the childrens' programs on deck 5. |

Notes: Low traffic location, very convenient to shows, movie theatre, stores, deck 4 promenade. Mostly quiet room except for some noise(drum beats mainly) coming from Walt Disney theatre rehersals during the day, but never more than an hour or so. Like the corner "nook" location. Would request again! |

Notes: We loved this room for the 3 of us. It was in a very quiet area of the ship and a GREAT location for the kids clubs and shows. I never felt like I was walking down rows and rows of doors (like deck 6) because there were so few rooms on forward deck 5. Our housekeeper, Denise, was the best and made me feel like our room was her top priority!! This room did not have a steamer trunk for storage of clothing. That was okay for us because we brought lots and lots of cheap wire hangers and hung almost all of our clothing. The room was in very good shape. Nice shower/bathtub, good water pressure. Found nothing to complain about and would book this room again! Everything was great! |
