Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 5688 Condition: 5
Deck: 5 Category: 8C Location: Aft

Notes: That room has a navigator's verandah. The small verandah (perfect for two) gives you a nice view of the huge Mickey Mouse on the aft when you look down and a great view in general. We really enjoyed having coffee on the balcony in the morning. The balcony provided a nice view of Castaway Cay. You can hear the motors a lot especially at night, I think it is more suited for people who like white noise at night (we do). When they dock, you can hear bang sounds but we wake up early so it did not bother us (it was actually nice to see the work going on). The bed was super confortable. We slept like babies. Everything looked freshly refurbished. The room connects to another stateroom and we could hear a little noise sometimes but not enough to be bothered by it. On the other side was a crew only room and we did not hear a thing from them. On the first night, we could feel the motion (PC-Nassau) but the rest of the trip, it was fine. We really loved that room and the Mickey view from the balcony really added Disney magic to the trip.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 5688 Condition: 5
Deck: 5 Category: 7A Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 02/21/15

Notes: It was a cozy little love nest for 2. But if there are more than 2 people it might feel small. We loved our verandah that looked over the end of the ship just above Dumbo. There was a little movement when we got into port but nothing big. The split bath was amazing. I enjoyed being at the very end of the hall. It made everything really quite. The verandah is a small white wall and there's only a bench to sit on. As I said for 2 of us it was perfect. For 3-4 people it would have felt tiny.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 5688 Condition: 5
Deck: 5 Category: 7A Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 02/01/14

Notes: Cabin was in excellent condition, however the location was next to a crew access area that crew frequented for smoking breaks. We constantly had to deal with smoke on the very tiny veranda and whenever we had the cabin sliding door to the veranda open. The is a bench that seats two people on the veranda however it is not comfortable after a few minutes. Also the vibrations and noise from the engines/ propulsion was very noticeable and at times annoying. Cabin is at the end of the hall so very little hall noise but was next to a door to the crew area that stayed open so we were subject to that area's noise.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 5688 Condition: 5
Deck: 5 Category: 7A Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 12/15/12

Notes: This was a first time cruise for my husband, 8 year old daughter and I. Our travel agent suggested an aft cabin and this is the one that was available. We absolutely loved it. The size was perfect for our family of 3. We never felt crowded, split bathrooms were a plus. The small verandah was not a problem for us. We would still have our coffee outside and loved the aft view! We enjoyed watching the ship pull in and out of St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and especially enjoyed watching the captain dock the ship at Castaway Cay. We never heard any foot traffic as the room is the last one in the hallway, tucked away. We did not get any smoke from castmember breakroom as stated on a room report written on the Dream, in fact, I still don't know where that breakroom was located. Being on the same floor to the Oceaneer Club was a plus. Even though this floor is above the adult clubs and entertainment we never heard any noise or music. I guess if a large verandah is very important to you then this is not the room for you. Overall we recommend this cabin. We had a GREAT and magical time on our first cruise.

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 5688 Condition: 4
Deck: 5 Category: 6B Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 10/09/11

Notes: We loved our cabin so much except for 1 thing! It felt extremely spacious for us (2 adults, 1 child). It was very clean, with extremely comfortable beds/pillows, and had no noise from hallway/foot traffic as it is the last one on the row. There is a connecting door on one wall to the next cabin. We got a quiet family(strangers to us) and we could hear them at times. Being AFT with a verandah is great for watching The Dream back into port. Very exciting stuff! We also really liked being on the same deck as the Oceaneer Club/Lab! We even LIKED the small verandah! It is much smaller than any other on the ship, but it was quaint and the perfect size for our family of 3. We would NOT get this room again because of ONE thing. Every time we opened our verandah door clouds of cancerous smoke came billowing into our room. This cabin is next door to a utility area that is used only by CMs. It must be their break area because there was always cigarette smoke. Our balcony was the only area I smelled smoke onboard The Dream. We were unable to be on our verandah without our nostril hairs curling back due to the repugnant smell of cigarette smoke. If DCL will designate the CMs smoking areas AWAY from paying guests who do not appreciate secondhand smoke, then 5688 will be highly sought-after cabin.

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 5688 Condition: 1
Deck: 5 Category: 6B Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 02/27/11

Notes: There is only one reason we gave this stateroom a 1 instead of a 5 and that is its MINISCULE verandah. Verandah specs for this cat. are 43 sq. ft. We measured and this verandah is a mere 24 sq. ft. Barely enough room for two people. No chair or table, only an uncomfortable storage bench bolted in the corner. This stateroom, along with its mirror #5188, desperately needs re-categorization!

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 5688 Condition: 4
Deck: 5 Category: 7A Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 02/09/11

Notes: I read some reviews of this stateroom before my cruise and I was a little concerned by what I read, your results may vary, but overall I liked this stateroom. You will likely hear some engine noise in this stateroom but I'm a pretty sound sleeper so that didn't bother me, I didn't hear any noise from the clubs on Desk 4, a pretty loud thunderstorm woke me up one night but that was it. I didn't smell any cigarette smoke while using the verandah(I hate cigarette smoke so I was concerned about that). The verandah is very small, there is a bench on one end of the verandah but no other furniture. The stateroom is at the very aft of the ship so you will feel the motion of the ship more than you would towards the center of the ship but that did not bother me. On the plus side you have a great view every time the ship departs or enters port because they dock aft first(got some nice pictures), you also get a pretty nice view of the ocean while the ship is at sea. If you are an adult traveler this stateroom is very convenient for visiting the lounges at the aft of deck 4, the desk 5 laundry facility, and its not that far from the aft elevators. Bottom line, I would not mind at all having this stateroom on another cruise. I have a number of pictures of this stateroom, including pictures of the verandah, if you are interested send a private message to AgentP and I will be happy to send some to you.
