Deck: 6 Category: 9A Location: Forward

Notes: Our first time on DCL. Loved the split bathrooms, the privacy curtain, and the convertible sofa. Bed was comfortable and sheets were high end. You absolutely can hear the thrusters when docking and I think it will wake up most people. It's more of a low rumble instead of shaking or vibration. If you're on a port intensive itinerary like the Med like we were and you don't want to wake up at 6AM every day, I would probably pick an interior or verandah room midship, where the rumbling is much less noticeable. The stateroom was overall in very good condition, though showing its age with some minor wear and tear, dents, the A/C dripped water on the carpet, etc. That said, the carpet looked new and everything was in good condition. No issues with the plumbing or any weird smells. For some reason our cabin didn't have an alarm clock. Overall I like the classic, nautical decor, but I think the rooms are due soon for a refurbishment.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 6512 Condition: 5
Deck: 6 Category: 8A Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 03/14/15

Notes: I was disapointed, because having had an 8A before, I thought all 8As were the "mini-suites." This is a large room -- but it lacks the half-wall separating the two parts of the room. It has a pole in the middle, no curtain separating the couch from the bed. VERY LITTLE STORAGE!! 3 drawers in the dresser, smallish closet and 2 small bedside drawers. Very good light and pretty windows, and pleasantly quiet, but I won't get this stateroom again. Not worth the extra cost.

Notes: Very large room! Was pleasantly surprised! Was built as a handicap room; however, not listed as one. Biggest draw is the size! We had 6514 as wellloved the 2 large portholes in each room. Tried to book for our next cruise..but wasn't available. I HIGHLY recommend!

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 6512 Condition: 5
Deck: 6 Category: 8A Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 07/28/12

Notes: Huge room, nearly twice as wide as normal room. Door is much wider, 2 portholes, has a pole in the room. Huge bathroom, no tub only a roll in shower. (seems like a handicap room, although not marked as such) Very quiet. Has a couch and ceiling pull down bed. Not a lot of storage space - has a 2 door plus a 1 door closet, 3 drawers on desk, and a coffee table storage. Convenient to the Walt Disney & movie theaters ... a little far from the aft dining rooms.

Notes: Very quiet area. Stateroom host fantastic. Everything in working order. Nice large porthole windows. This is a HA room. We were assigned this room because we were GTY. We did not request this room. Very large due to being HA room. Walk in shower, no tub.

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 6512 Condition: 5
Deck: 6 Category: 8 Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 08/28/11

Notes: Love the room! Two portholes and it's at least 50% larger than any room we've had on previous cruises with a verandah. No split bath, but it's huge and didn't cause any issues with getting ready. Lots of underbed storage. The bunk pulls down from over the couch. Designed as a handicap accessible room, but was given to us as an upgrade from DCL (no reason given, but we're glad they did). Had no noise issues, but it's all the way forward, so you do have to walk a bit just to get to the forward elevators. We booked the same type room on our next cruise for next year.

Notes: Overall, this room has a lot of great aspects. First of all, I would estimate that it is 50% larger than other Category 8 rooms. There are two portholes and the bathroom was large and roomy. There was no tub (the shower appeared to be wheelchair accessible) or curtain separating the two parts of the room. There was some noise when maneuvering into or out of port, but it was not bothersome. Being just about as far forward as possible, it was a long walk to just about anywhere. Overall, the size and extra space made this perfect for our young family that spent plenty of time in the room during naps.

Notes: Very Quiet. I never noticed any morning noise and I am a late sleeper. Great view of Castaway Cay. We went right after the onslaught of hurricaines and it was a smooth ride and I am prone to seasickness. Plenty of storage room and very comfortable all around.

Deck: 6 Category: 8 Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 08/18/07

Notes: We were upgraded to this stateroom from a sideways 11. Since our party grew from 2 to 3, we appreciated the extra room and the split bath. This category has the one big window, giving us lovely views of ocean and ports. It was up to the usual high DCL standards. IMHO, this stateroom is not the best choice for cruisers who like to sleep late, as there is a door directly across the hall to a room in which the cleaning carts are stored. They start coming out between 8 and 9 am and woke me (but not my two teens!) every morning. Otherwise, since it's a deadend corridor, it's pretty quiet.

Ship: Disney Magic Stateroom: 6512 Condition: 5
Deck: 6 Category: 8 Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 11/11/06

Notes: Very quiet room, not far from forward elevators and only one flight up from kids club. Had nice views of the ports depending on how we docked, and had a great view of the pirate party fireworks show. Plenty of room for two adults & two kids, room was in great shape, only downside was long walk to restaurants which are aft.

Deck: 6 Category: 8 Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 02/28/04

Notes: Room was in excellent condition. Large porthole/window. VERY,VERY quiet, limited hall traffic. Didn't notice ship movement. Convienent to WD Theatre, Diversions, Rockin Bar D, Sessions, and the Quiet Cove Pool. Plenty of room for 3 adults, and one child (We don't pack lightly!) Third time we selected this room (3/02,4/03,2/04).
