Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 6550 | Condition: 2 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 5B | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 11/24/18 | ||
Notes: The room location was fine, however on our first night out of port we experienced some high winds. While the ship was listing water with black sludge began to come up from the drains. They attempted to clean this a few times but water kept backing up from the drain in the floor. This grey water seeped into the room from under the bathrooms and got the carpet wet up until the bed area. The next day while calmer blowers were brought in to dry the carpet, unfortunately the next evening water was again coming into the room but this time from the common utility access area just outside of the room. Be aware that this can happen if you encounter rough seas as it sounded like this room was located near the junction point in the water system. |
Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 6550 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 5B | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 10/22/16 | ||
Notes: Very quiet; lots of storage in the room including drawers in the desk and the corner dresser, and the dresser where the old blue "chests" used to be; very convenient to the forward and midship elevators. Bed was comfortable. We were able to see some of the fireworks on Pirates night from inside the cabin. I chose a cabin in this same vicinity for our next cruise. |
Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 6550 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 5D | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 02/20/16 | ||
Notes: This room is convenient to both mid and forward elevators, without having the direct noise of either. With the verandah doors open, we can occasionally hear people playing shuffleboard a few decks below, but it is rare and we don't hear it with the verandah door closed. The rescue boats are directly below. If there are loud movies playing in the theater, we can sometimes hear a low grade rumble in the room, but it wasn't any louder than sometimes hearing the ship's engines or anything. We personally didn't find it distracting or annoying, but it was there. That said, it took us two sailings in this stateroom to realize this, and I think it depends entirely on whether the ship is heavily playing loud action movies or not. As for views, I find this room offers a nice view as you leave Port Canaveral, and offers a great view of Castaway Cay. St. Martin and St. Thomas have been views on the port side instead of starboard like this room is. |

Notes: This was a fantastic room. It had the pull out couch and the upper berth. It was very quiet. Close enough to the midship elevator to be convenient but not so close that we heard a lot of hallway traffic. So convenient to pop my daughter down one floor to the kids clubs. I would book this room again in a heartbeat. |
Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 6550 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 5B | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 12/31/13 | ||
Notes: Caught one of the last sailings of the Wonder out of Galveston and had the chance to enjoy this perfectly placed stateroom.
Midship of deck 6 could not have worked out better for us. My son enjoyed a short one flight walk to the Oceaneer clubs on deck 5 and we were very close to the midship elevator, but far enough down the hall to not have any noise from the lobby. We used the stairs a lot more than on our Dream cruise as it was only a few decks up or down to get to the active parts of the ship.
We didn't have any noise issues from outside the room as we had cabin decks above and below us.
Being on this side of the ship allowed us to enjoy the fireworks from our veranda on Pirate night.
The only knock against the room was that there was a fare bit of creaking from the ceiling area when the ship was in the rougher waters in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.
Still, I would gladly take this room location again when sailing on the Wonder or Magic. |

Notes: Very convenient location, close to everything. Has a single steamer trunk. No special views, we were on the opposite side of most ports. Plenty of room for our things and our 4 suitcases and 2 booster seats! |

Notes: Stateroom 6550 was wonderful and we had a great cabin steward. It was very convenient to the elevators/stairs. I did find the bathroom door/closets area to be a little more crowded than on the Wonder. The bathroom doors do not open up all the way so it makes it almost impossible to have the bathroom doors and closet doors opened at the same time. These cabins seem to be almost sound proof. We never heard noise from the hallways or rooms next door. However, you will notice the noise/bass from the theater below. It's really not that bad, and definitely not a reason to move rooms. We had family staying in each room on both side of us and the cabin steward offered to open the white dividers between the balconies. Overall it is a great room. I did find this cabin was a tiny bit smaller or just a slightly different set up from the Wonder. If you have this cabin booked you will have a great trip! |

Notes: Our family of 5 stayed in 6550 and 6548. They are adjoining rooms that are close to the forward and mid-ship elevators. Everything was in working order in each room. The view from the verandahs was great although there is one of those rather large white dividers in between the two. Looking at the ship you can see the panels and these rooms are just above the first lifeboat with a white panel in between the rooms. These appear to be strictly for esthetics but I could be wrong. You cannot look straight down at the water but you do have a view of the water just off Deck 4 so you can hear and see the waves coming off of the ship. We enjoyed the rooms but would not stay in them again for two reasons. (1) You are just above the Buena Vista Theater and you hear and feel the base of each movie (2) The partially blocked view by the white panel. Now, would I freak out if that was the room I was booked in for next week, no...it will not ruin your trip. There are just too many to choose from to have these two if you don't have to. We never thought our view was not great and we laughed at the bass most of the time (except at 2 am on the last night). |
Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 6550 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 6 | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 01/26/11 | ||
Notes: Our cabin - and likely ALL of them midship - were right above the Buena Vista movie theater. TRON was showing, and whenever it was on, we could hear and sometimes feel the show!!
Aside from that, we found the bedding outstanding and the raised bed with storeage underneath was great, if still a bit cramped. We've always cruised with the verandah, and this particular room the verandah is now above a deck, not the water as we were accustomed to. We didn't spend as much time on it as we have in cruises past. Otherwise, the room was good - although we were stymied by the hair dryer hanging in a room in which it cannot be used! |

Notes: This room sleeps 4. My son loved sleeping in the upper berth, and even with 4 of us, we had plenty of room. It is in a convenient location - not far from the mid-ship elevators/stairs. It was very quiet, and the veranda was great to have. We had a great view of the beaches in Castaway Cay. |

Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 6550 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 6 | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 05/14/04 | ||
Notes: Very good location, one flight down & your close to kids clubs. Close to mid-ship elevators, but did not hear any noise from them. You can watch them load/unload the ship while in PC. Normally the ship backs into Castaway Cay, so you will have a view of the beach. We however did not back in so we got to see the other side of the Island.
We have booked the same room for May 13, 2006!! |
