Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 6634 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 7 | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 02/27/49 | ||
Notes: This is the secret verandah room, a former cat 6 at a cat 7 price. There was very little obstruction on the verandah. I actually like it because it seems a little more private on one side. Great ship location, probably half way between mid ship and aft. Safety drill is in animator's palate. Great view of Castaway Cay while in port. We love this room, stayed in same room on the Wonder for a 3 night cruise. You can't beat the price savings, but you must book very early to get it. Only 3 can stay in this cabin, no overhead bunk. |

Deck: 6 | Category: 7A | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 06/22/19 | ||
Notes: We booked this room for our 7 night Mediterranean cruise. I wanted a plexiglass verandah and by booking the “secret verandah” we saved a lot of money. It’s a slightly obstructed view, but as others have stated, this actually makes it feel more private. We loved the location as it was close to the aft elevators and stairs and also close to the laundry room. Nice being only one floor up from the Kids Clubs. We found the room to be pretty quiet. Didn’t get noise from neighbors or up above. You do get noise and vibrations when the boat is docking but nothing that bothered us. I actually appreciated the “wake up” because it helped me know it was time to get ready for our days in port. We’ve previously stayed in the Mid section, but we liked Aft quite a bit. The room was in excellent condition. We would definitely book this room again! It’s an awesome value considering it’s categorized as a Navigators Verandah but you getting the full Verandah experience at a savings. As noted by others, this room only sleeps three people. |

Deck: 6 | Category: 7A | Location: Aft |

Notes: This is one of four secret veranda staterooms on the Magic. For the cost of a navigator veranda you receive a full veranda, plexi-glass wall and a minor obstruction on the aft end of the veranda which is built into the superstructure of the ship. The location is half way between the aft elevators and the rear stairs, an excellent location. 2 floors up to cabanas, the pools and beverage stations and a few floors down to get to the restaurants. The cabin was in excellent condition, quiet and rear thrusters were rarely felt. A definite coup if you can get this cabin. |
Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 6634 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 4D | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 05/05/17 | ||
Notes: AWESOME stateroom. Very convenient to the aft elevators. Only two decks up from the District clubs/lounges. Easy access by elevator to Cabanas, Palo, Remy. We love the category 4 rooms on the Dream class ships because of the extra space and the round tub with the overhead shower. The extra space really does make a difference and is always worth it. It feels luxurious to have so much extra room. We had 4 adults in this room and we never felt cramped or on top of each other. Also, the verandah is situated between two lifeboats so the view isn't interrupted at all. If you're looking for a larger room, 4D is the way to go since it is the least expensive of the larger rooms (I don't count 4E since the room isn't larger, just the verandah is). Would book this again in a heartbeat! |
Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 6634 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 7A | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 10/18/15 | ||
Notes: We had this room as well as the two inside rooms across the hall. It is a "hidden veranda" room in that it has the clear wall veranda but has an obstruction. The obstruction was a little more noticeable in real life than it was in the pictures, but it was still a good deal on the room. It was close to the aft elevator and stairs. The noise we heard was from kids running up and down the hall (not the room's fault). We would book this room again anytime as it was a great deal to get the veranda at a cheaper rate. |
Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 6634 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 4D | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 01/24/15 | ||
Notes: This was an excellent location on the ship (close to aft stairs to go up to cabanas or down to the kids or adults clubs, yet also not too far to go to the mid stairs for drinks or the theaters, but not so close that there was a lot of foot traffic).
My only disappointment was the partially blocked veranda (the vertical line on the ship is entirely over this veranda). If one of the rooms next door or the same rooms on 7 were open I'd go with them first, but if not, I would book again to have the convenient location and larger room.
It wasn't noisy, and the larger size room was big enough to leave the pack and play set up (where the murphy bed would fold down) and still have a clear walkway to the veranda. With the regular veranda room, you the pack and play blocked the veranda and you had to slide around it or take it down during the day (which the stateroom host would do if you wanted, but we used it for daytime naps). Ironically we got the bigger room to have the path to the veranda, and then the veranda ended up being partially blocked. It was a really great location on the ship though. |
Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 6634 | Condition: 3 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 7A | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 04/13/13 | ||
Notes: I have been on all 4 of the Disney Cruise ships and this has probably been my least favorite room aboard any of the shifts. The Navigators Verandah was an obstructed view from the room and it was like having a ocean view room with a patio. The room was nice with the updated decor but the a/c did not cool enough the entire room and there was not a lot of sunlight coming into the room because of the enclosure.
Room was not bad but not my favorite. The room needed to be refreshed and the host was not the best in keeping the room clean to Disney Standards.
Overall it was an okay cabin but I would avoid the Navigator Verandah unless you don't mind the covered patio and limited light into your room and obstructed view. |
Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 6634 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 7A | Location: Aft |

Notes: The room itself was great! We had 6634 AND 6134 in our party. They were mirror images of each other. Both are "Secret Verandah" rooms, called navigators verandah, but have an actual clear plexiglass verandah. They are just like CAT 6 rooms, with a slight obstruction, in that the curve of the aft section of the ship slightly curves the top right corner of the view. As other posters have stated, and I agree, the "obstruction" is SLIGHT. We were very, very pleased with the verandah! The room itself was sufficient, laid out just like any other CAT 6 stateroom, except that it does not have a pull down bunk because of the shape of the ship above the room. This room only sleeps 3 people. The Magic is an older (but still beautiful and worthy) ship--the creaks and clicks while rockin' the waves above 15 knots can get annoying if you are a light sleeper (like myself). However, my husband and daughter snored right through it. Other than that, the position of the room was fantastic! Very convenient to the laundry and to the aft elevators which are immediate gateways to the coveted deck 9 with the (24-hour-free-soda-tea-coffee-milk!) drink station, pools, and Topsiders Buffet! Because this room is located further aft than the aft elevators, there was little foot traffic, and the hallways were generally quiet. Contrary to what I had seen in older reviews and older photos, the Magic does have flat panel TVs.
Some tips I can offer (for any room)... secure empty hangers in the closet together, or remove them. They will clang together at night (again, I am a light sleeper, and that was annoying to me). The under the bed area is not deep, suitcases will likely need to be stored in the closet, unless you have soft-sided suitcases. The steamer trunk (available in most rooms)has 3 shelves (including the floor) and is great for storing shorts and t-shirts or kids clothes. The "refrigerator" is cold enough to keep cold drinks cold, and medicines requiring refrigeration should be fine... but I wouldn't trust storing milk in there, and it probably won't do well turning a warm drink frosty cold. If you are considering this room, I would say DO IT! Unless, of course, you are sailing the same time as me, then I say, "NOOOOO, it's mine!" LOL! Happy Sailing! |

Notes: Fantastic stateroom: Absolutely quiet, everything in good working condition, no smells from the bathroom, and it contains a steamer trunk. This is one of the "secret verandah" rooms, i.e. it has a clear plexiglass verandah with a solid-wall obstruction on the right-hand side. Makes it very cozy. Would choose it again anytime. |
Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 6634 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 6 | Category: 7 | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 06/20/09 | ||
Notes: This is a CAT 6 at a CAT 7 price, due to the verandah obstruction. I actually found the obstruction to be a benefit, as I could tuck in that little corner and feel even more privacy. The obstruction also helps catch the wind off the seas a little better, so the hot summer weather didn't seem so hot.
There was no noticeable noise heard from any direction while in the stateroom. Being on starboard side, it offered perfect views of Tortola, St. Thomas, the Pirate Night fireworks, and Castaway Cay. Grab this cabin if you ever get the opportunity! |

Notes: Room was awesome. Former Cat. 6, now Cat 7. Balcony obstruction? I think not! Very quiet room. I thought aft location on ship was ideal for us. Will request this room again. Room only sleeps 3. Perfect view of Castaway Cay. |

Notes: Great room. A lot bigger than I expected. The obstructed view did not bother me at all, in fact I liked it, especially for the lower rate. It was not to far from the aft elevator yet is was not noise. Great view of Nassau and Castaway Cay. Already booked this same stateroom again. |

Notes: We LOVED this stateroom and have booked it again. It is in a handy location to go to Topsiders and the secret aft verandah on Deck 7. It is fairly close to the laundry room on deck 6. Very quiet and the partially obstructed verandah is actually cozy. |
