Notes: This stateroom is an absolute hidden gem! As far forward as you can go on deck 7, port side, this room is probably 3x the size of the usual room since it is the front corner of the ship. It's almost "pie-shaped" and has the feeling of a luxurious "loft". It sleeps 4 (queen bed, day bed, and bunk from the ceiling) and there is SO MUCH ROOM to walk around. Still has the split bathroom, plenty of room to unpack. It feels super luxurious because of how spacious it is. The only reason DCL sells it as a 9D instead of a 9A is because of the port hole. It has one port hole at the very front of the ship, it's not as big a port hole as the category 8s, but enough to look out and get natural light in this room. The day bed is tucked into a little nook which makes it difficult to see the TV from that bed, but honestly there is so much space in this room, you can all sit in chairs to watch TV! If this room (or it's counterparts 7504, 8006, 8504) are available, RUN DO NOT WALK to book them. I have this room booked again for our next cruise and seriously cannot wait. What a find!!! |

Notes: This was a corner room and was extra spacious. We are a family of 3 so there was plenty of space. Our daughter slept on the couch/bed and it was comfortable. Not a good position for the TV, however the bed was big enough to where she'd lay in bed with us and we wouldn't have a problem with her. The noise level was low except when pulling into port, but not a big deal for us. It was conveniently located to the laundry facilities. A little walk to the elevators, but again not a big deal. Great room if you're looking for space. The porthole was angled and it was decent to look out, but nothing "wow". We enjoyed this room and would recommend it to fellow cruisers. |

Notes: This room is AMAZING. We have sailed in it three times, and will again in a couple of months.
First, it is HUGE. Unbelievable. There is so much room to move around, place luggage, etc. A drawback for some may be that it is at the front of the ship, so it is a long, long walk to the back (such as going to Cabanas) or a long walk to midship elevators. To us that is an advantage; it's really not that long, and it gives us a chance to exercise just a little bit. Also, being at the front, there is almost zero traffic outside the room.
Being on the corner, we had views out the porthole both sideways and forward. Pretty good expanse of a view.
Did I mention the room is HUGE? This room is a hidden gem of the ship, they should be charging more for it (don't tell them I said so).
Drawbacks, if these matter...no privacy curtain if you have more than 2 in your party; the TV is not in a good place to sit, relax and watch (certainly not from the sofa, you need to use the bed, chair, or floor); and the porthole is smallish and inconvenient.

Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 7006 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 7 | Category: 9D | Location: Forward |
Sail Date: 06/09/12 | ||
Notes: This room is very large. It has a strange layout, with the couch on one side and the upper bed on the other side(floating above nothing)...both are hard to view the tv. The clothes storage is limited with only three drawers and two closets. The hallway is very quiet, not a lot of traffic. Laundry is very close. |

Notes: The room was HUGE! There was a slight malfunction with the stateroom door (I have to call DCL and tell them). You have to push down on the handle really hard to open it. And when you close the door, you have to make sure it is closed all the way. Since Cabanas is all the way at the back of the ship, it was somewhat inconvenient, but that's to be expected on such a large ship. I didn't hear any noise from Vibe. It was cool to have a porthole facing the front of the ship. There was PLENTY of room....but I was a little disappointed about storage area in the room. Yes there were the regular sized closets, but for a family of four, there weren't enough drawers to put our clothes in, so my son left his clothes in his suitcase. The only time I really felt any major movement in the room from the ocean was the very last night...but that's also to be expected....I have felt the movement on all nine cruises no matter where my stateroom has been.. |

Notes: This is one of the corner, forward staterooms on decks 6, 7, and 8. It has a small forward facing porthole that looks out over Vibe (the teen club).
The room is oddly shaped because of the fact that it is in a corner.
We absolutely loved the room, but we understand that there are some drawbacks that could affect others' enjoyment or appreciation of it.
First the pros:
- Very big... it easily had to be 400+ square feet altogether.
- Quiet location - all the way fore on Deck 7 - there was no noise from anywhere other than when the bow thrusters were in use for docking operations.
Cons:
- There is no privacy curtain - with the layout of the room, there isn't much sense in where you would place one - for us this was not a problem, but if you have kids who are light sleepers, it might be an issue.
Overall, I think the room might be an acquired taste. I could see several ways that Disney could tweak it when the Dream is in drydock in the future for servicing... Relocating the sofa to the "traditional" location under the pull-down bunk would make it possible to put in a privacy curtain.
I'd recommend it for the large feel and comfort level, if you understand the possible drawbacks and are okay with them.

Notes: Room is huge, with large open spaces. Room is angled, with smallish foreward facing porthole. Only noise is when foreward thrusters come on when coming into port. Sleeps 4, never felt crowded. |

Notes: It was a wonderful and HUGE room! We were worried about the view from the window but it was great! No complaints at all about this room...didn't even notice the tiny bit of extra movement from being at the front of the ship and our maid was AMAZING!! Would definitely get this room again! |

Notes: This was our first cruise ever and what a great location, forward port side. It was very quiet with very little traffic on our hallway. The officer's quarters are at the end of the hall (all the way forward) and I think some of the characters "lived" there as well. It is a connecting room, but we had great neighbors and could barely hear them, even when they were laughing and having a small get together in their room. The forward lifts were just down the hall from our room, so it was very easy to get to. Also easy access to the Quite Cove pool just 2 decks up!
Our only issue would be that the ladder kept falling off the ledge that it is kept on in the closet. We just took it down and it was fine.
We were on the 15 night Eastbound Repo cruise this summer, and if we can fit all of that luggage in the room, anyone should be fine for a 5 or 7 night! |
