Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 8040 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: V Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 01/26/19

Notes: Quiet, convenient to elevators, concierge lounge, and pools. Turndown at night transformed a 3-seat sofa to a twin bunk bed. Rails were sufficient for safety for a 5 and 7 year old. Pack n play for the 1 year old made this space tight, but we planned for that and it was manageable. Babyliss hairdryer in the desk much better than the one in the split bath. 2 TVs, curtain separating the 2 sleeping areas. Plenty of storage and closet space to keep room de cluttered. Great views of most ports

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 8040 Condition: 4
Deck: 8 Category: 5B Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 04/14/13

Notes: We were very close to the forward stairs and elevator so that was very convenient to go up on deck. The only noise we heard was kids running up and down the halls. Plenty of room and a view of the dock when we were at CastAway Cay.

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 8040 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 5B Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 09/13/12

Notes: Great stateroom. Very conveniently located just steps away from the Forward Elevators. The room was comfortably accommodated my family of four (2-adults, 2 kids [6 & 3]). Even though it was located near the elevators, it was always very quiet. We had calm seas and the motion of the ship was minimal. During our stay, my wife and 3-year-old daughter slept on the bed, my 6-year-old son slept on the bunk bed that pulled out of the ceiling and I slept on the sofa bed. I'm 6'3" and easily fit on the sofa bed which was a pleasant surprise. I only saw two (minor) downsides to this stateroom and both where related to where it located on the ship. The first downside was that its forward location meant that if you took the elevators up to Deck 11 to get to the pools and Cabanas, you had to walk through the Quiet Cove Pool area. If you have kids with you, you have to tell them to be quiet and also endure the dirty glances of people in the Quiet Cove area as you walk through. The other issue with the room's location is that this room is on the Port side which means you will be facing away from some of the best sights like Atlantis and Castaway Cay.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 8040 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 5B Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 06/23/12

Notes: This room was fantastic! It was right off of the forward staircase, though it was never noisy! The location was nice and close to the elevator and I never heard much noise in the hallway. The view was fantastic from our veranda. The room was a good size, not to small. The double bathrooms were great. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. I slept on the pull out upper bunk and it was surprisingly comfortable. The room was wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone.

Deck: 8 Category: 4 Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 12/03/11

Notes: The stateroom is in a great location. So close to the mid elevators. We had a great view of Castaway Cay as well as St. Thomas. We loved how big this stateroom is.We usually stay in the Verandah room, this being a family Verandah room, you could easily be comfortable with 4 in the room. The room was very quiet. No engine noise or docking noise.

Ship: Disney Magic Stateroom: 8040 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 4 Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 10/28/09

Notes: An absolutely fantastic room on Deck 8, great location, good sized room, lots of amenities. Loved the deck, easy to get to the pools and sun deck quickly, good for topsiders, and cove cafe to get a quick snack and return. I see the odd mention of posters saying there is noise on this deck, It is totally untrue, unless they are speaking about the pirate party, and if you have your veranda doors open, actually its very peaceful, and for a light sleeper we got a lot of sleep. No funny noises at all. I have found lower deck rooms have a lot of vibration and noise, from clubs, restaurants, and a humid, and not fresh smell, but up on deck 8, the movement is less, no vibration, and you can have room service on your veranda. We spent a lot of time in the room and enjoyed the facilities.

Deck: 8 Category: 8 Location: Mid

Notes: Stateroom was clean and spacious for a cruise ship. I'm a clean freak and I was ok with condition of the room. There was plenty of storage space for 3 adults and a 22 month old and stroller. During the day we heard running and moving chairs but the level of noise was fairly low, our 22 mo old and mother slept through it in an afternoon nap. As reported, at 7am moving of chairs heard, however I heard it only b/c baby wakes up at around that time, otherwise the muffled noise would not have woken me up. Great proximity to everything. Had the opportunity to change rooms to 8500 in the front of the ship due to what I had read about the noise. Glad I kept 8040, as the noise was not a factor and the drink station and buffet was in the back of the ship. Room temp was adjustable and worked great was always cold ( sometimes we opened the verandah to warm up the room).Beds were comfortable, sofa bed was a tad bit firmer than queen bed. Split baths were great, lack of hot water never a prob. If you pack light like we did, then there is more than enough storage. (laundry service is available). Only complaint was that the refrigerator was not cold ( having a baby who is lactose intolerate and not using formula we needed a place to store regular soy milk for the just in case moment, btw, DCL carries soy milk and rice milk). Everything was in working order. Had a view of port at nassau and castaway cay. Would book this room again.

Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 8040 Condition: 4
Deck: 8 Category: 4 Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 09/07/08

Notes: Our stateroom was midship, just around the corner from the midship elevators. It was very convient to use the stairs to go right up to deck 9 at the Goofy pool. The only noise we had was during the day, while out on the verandah, you could hear people running on the deck above. Other than that it was quiet. We couldn't even hear the pirate party overhead out on the verandah. The room itself always stayed quiet. There was tons of space in the stateroom! There was a double steamer trunk for clothes, a desk with 3 drawers each side, two small end tables with small drawers, a stool seat in the corner that had a space below it for things like shoes, another dresser with five drawers...some small some large, and a very large closet. The split bathroom with the shower had a shelf over the sink and storage below the sink and the side with the toliet had another shelf above the sink, storage below that, and five shelves above the toliet. With five of us in the room, we had storage areas we never even used. Be advised that with the Murphy bed down you can not get to the verandah door without climbing over it but we did not view this as a problem. This room was excellent and we would not hesitate to book it again!

Ship: Disney Magic Stateroom: 8040 Condition: 3
Deck: 8 Category: 4 Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 10/27/07

Notes: this was an upgrade for us, so we were very happy with the additional room (coming from a category 6). One of the guidebooks said to avoid this room as it is under the area near the Goofy pool. I called DCL to see what they said and they had never heard that before. We rarely heard any noise that wouldn't be expected (if we were in the room during a deck party then of course we heard the band! - but why be in your cabin?). It's location was perfect for our kids, one deck up to the fun!

Ship: Disney Magic Stateroom: 8040 Condition: 4
Deck: 8 Category: 4 Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 03/26/05

Notes: Good location. Queen bed mattress probably due for replacement. Minue or two of deck chair moving noise around 7 a.m. most mornings (typical problem with deck 8 rooms, I think).
