Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 8046 Condition: 4
Deck: 8 Category: T Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 04/22/16

Notes: Room had early morning noise from Deck 9 tables and chairs being moved around. Sea Day evenings also heard noise from deck above, running children and table chairs being moved. Not so much to be too bothersome, but very noticeable if you are watching a movie. The TV in the Bedroom should have be able to be pulled out more as to see the whole screen, jut an inch more would do it. Room was spacious. Ample storage in the room and closets. It had the pull down bed in the Master suite, which would be better in the Living room area Like 8032. Room was in good condition. Well maintained, and appointed.

Notes: I love DCL, in general, and I loved this cruise. The room itself is very nice. We've been in 1 bedroom suites before and knew what to expect. The toilet and shower in the master were the only items not in great repair, but we told them on the comment card at disembark. Very minor issues- The toilet bowl has been brushed way too many times with something that ruined the finish, so it always had the appearance of being "dirty" from the dark gray marks where the brush took off the white. Not a big deal. Also, many times on the cruise it seemed the ship in general had a little problem with the flushers not working as planned. Sometimes it took 4-5 times to flush ours before it worked. Yucky, but not a big deal. The shower was sloped so that pretty often the floor got wet when we used it. I don't remember seeing that in the other 5 times I've cruised Disney. Whatever. Overall this cabin is well-located near the elevators, easy up to 9, etc. Very spacious. We had a teen on the couch and a 10 year old on the Murphy twin. They were fine. Great storage, great service, well-appointed suite, and very nice decor with the hardwood everywhere. BUT- I really wish I'd ever heard of cabin reviews and checked this website prior to booking. I don't think it's possible to get a concierge suite on the Magic without having to deal with this, since they're all on deck 8. Note to architects- why did you put the concierge suites right under the main entertainment deck?? Yes, the noise from deck 9 was bad. The others in my party seeemed to acclimate better than me, because they didn't notice it after the first couple of days. (12 night cruise) I was kept up most nights, though, because some time between 12-3 am every night, the night shift crew were putting all the chairs away, pushing around the tables, etc. And although it might not sound any louder up on deck 9 as you can imagine it sounds to push in a chair at a restaurant, it sounds like 2-ton weights are being dragged around from underneath in your nice deck 8 concierge stateroom. Then in the morning, they take the chairs out again... My sleep was definitely not great as a result, and I asked them about it, but they looked at me like I was nuts. Now that I see I'm not the only one, I'm sure they've heard this before... If you can, bring noise-cancelling headphones, I guess. Like I said, I don't think you can have these rooms on other decks, and the rooms are very nice and worth every penny in the extra space. But since deck 9 is all chairs from stem to stern, there's probably no way to avoid the noise problem. And that's why it doesn't get a 5.

Notes: We upgraded @ the port from a booked 5B GTY (assigned a 5A) to this 1-bedroom suite. This was the first time we sailed in concierge and we were absolutely floored when we walked into the room. It was AMAZING! Beautifully appointed. Huge on the inside and huge on the verandah! It was just 2 of us, so you know we had plenty of room. We only used the walk-in closet w/ drawers and the additional drawers next to the TV in the bedroom for our clothing. The closets at the entrance to the room stored our luggage and our dirty clothes (as needed). Everything in the stateroom was in good working order, so no complaints there. Our only complaint is the noise that we encountered. We could definitely hear deck chairs being dragged around on Deck 9. This was during the day, as well as when they were storing them in the evening and then putting them out in the AM. Annoying, yes, but nothing too major. Also we could definitely hear our neighbors in 8048 thru the bedroom walls. It was annoying b/c those guests would talk on their phone late at night @ a loud pitch, so it kept us from falling asleep easily. Also they would let their young children run the length of the stateroom and scream and shout without regard to neighbors. Luckily this only happened a couple of times (the first day/night and the last day/night that I can recall), so it wasn't too bad, but definitely annoying. :-/ We would stay in this room again, but would try to get a different 1-bedroom suite if possible before taking this one. ;o) I'm giving it a 4 just b/c of the noise factors. Other than that, it's definitely a 5!!! Hope this info helps! Happy sailing!

Notes: This is a one-bedroom suite located amidships (in the middle of the ship). The photographs posted online don't really do it justice. It is remarkably spacious, elegantly decorated, and very comfortable. My wife and I were the only ones in the suite, and found it wonderfully convenient and spacious, and would have no hesitation in booking it again. The two full bathrooms made life very easy. She had the big one (toilet, shower, two sinks, full whirlpool bath), and I had the small one (toilet, single sink, full shower). It has two full hanging closets by the stateroom entrance, plus a set of shelves. We stored our suitcases in one, hung all of my clothes in the other, and I put my smaller items on the shelves. She had the walk-in closet off the bedroom. (Do you sense a pattern here?) She could also read in a chair by the veranda door in the bedroom while I watched a movie in the livingroom without disturbing here. She could have closed the frosted glass pocket doors between the livingroom and the bedroom, but it was never necessary. The veranda is double-width as the suite has the space of two category 4 rooms put together, but furnished and equipped as a single suite instead of two rooms. I was worried about possible noise from deck 9 above, especially as the suite is just aft of where the Goofy pool is. There were other posts about this and I was concerned, but it turned out not to be a problem. It is true that there sometimes was noise - kids running, occasional heavy steps from a grown-up, chairs being moved, especially as the crew reset the deck early in the morning, at around 5:30- 6:00. However, a lot of it depends on how sensitive you are to the noise. We heard it - and then tuned it out, much as you don't hear the whir of your furnace, or the sound your dishwasher makes at home. If, for some reason, you can't tune it out, then it will be a problem. It is not terribly obtrusive, only happens occasionally, and we didn't find it a problem. In compensation, this suite is in the middle of the ship, and as a result, there was less motion from the ship's rocking. We had friends who had a suite aft (8100), which, because it's a handicapped suite, was significantly bigger (although without a tub), but they also got more engine noise, and the room rocked significantly more than ours. Bottom line: this is a ship, and there are compromises. We loved this suite, and were sorry to leave it for our own bedroom.

Notes: Not noisy at all, very quiet, perhaps there have been recent upgrades. We were 2 adults and a toddler, lots of room for quiet afternoon naps and privacy. Very comfortable pillowtop mattress.

Notes: The stateroom was noisey - music at 6AM woke us Friday also noisey at night if you go to sleep early forget it. Can hear people runnign above on deck 9 but I suspect all deck 8 can hear that. Otherwise, everything in good condition, single pull down is in bedroom next to queen not in living room. Cozy for 5 but conceirge was awesome. We loved the cruise.
