Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 8141 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 8 | Category: 11C | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 04/07/13 | ||
Notes: I stayed in this stateroom with my 7 year old son it was very close to the laundry and the aft elevators. The room was in wonderful condition and it was very quiet. The magical porthole worked, but we waited for hours and saw no animation on it so that made it kind of a bummer. This was a last minute trip so and I was on a budget, but I think for the few extra bucks I should have upgraded to a real porthole. |

Notes: Everything on the Dream is brand new, so it would be really, really hard not to be in "excellent condition." There were already one or two things that showed wear/damage from others (one of the "rivets" on the virtual porthole was missing) but nothing that detracted from the room.
The room is very near the laundry. There was no extra noise because of this.
The entire side wall of the the room is in the main hallway. No extra noise either. Honestly, it felt like a vault. You couldn't hear anything in there!
Our only complaint (and it's more about the CM's lack of handling it) was that this is an adjoining room - something I did NOT want but had no choice - and the people next to us were smoking. Yep. Interior room and smoking like fiends. Because it was an adjoining room, the smoke seeped in the door rather prolifically. After reporting it 4 times (it was a 3 night cruise) the people did not stop, so I have to assume DCL did not handle it appropriately.
Now that I think about it - we did hear their TV once too. The TV actually touches the adjoining door when you tilt it toward the bed. Hard to get around that. And the smoke was much more disturbing. |
