Notes: There haven’t been any recent reports about this room for several years so I thought an update was in order. The condition of the room was great and the location very convenient to Cabanas. But the vibration was awful, and there was what I can only describe as constant engine noise. I would stay away from this room and area in general. We were on BTB sailings and upgraded on the second leg because I disliked the room so much. Also, if you have 3 or 4 people in the room be prepared that the sofa bed and pull down are smaller than other room categories. My daughter had to sleep curled up to fit on the sofa. |

Notes: Very convenient to the laundry, though good luck finding an empty washer, since it is one of the smaller ones. Most of the other laundries are Fore. It's a short distance to the aft elevator, which is convenient to cabanas, the pool, the district, Oceanear's Lab, and the exit to Castaway. Midship elevator is a bit of a hike but not bad.
There is a squeak in the ceiling. It is fairly constant when the ship is moving, and it bugged my children (7 & 5) the first night, but they didn't mention it afterward. If an adult stands in front of the TV the steady squeak stops. When the ship is stationary, you don't hear it, but you can make the ceiling squeak when you step on the floor at the foot of the bed.
We used the couch and bunk beds for the children, and they enjoyed picking out the Peter Pan constellations in the ceiling over the bunk. When we bumped into our steward, Jesus, in the hall, we let him know which blankies and bears went with which bunk and he had their various bedtime accessories in the proper beds at turndown.
The virtual porthole faces aft. I think I would have preferred a view out the side of the ship, but that's just a nitpick. I've heard that the frequency of character appearances varies between staterooms, and I don't know if that is true. If so, this is probably one of the less frequent ones.
There are outlets only on one side of the bed, and one of them is European style, dedicated to the clock. If there are two people who want to charge devices at bedside, you will want to bring an outlet splitter and run an extension cord under the bed from one side of the splitter.
Also an odd thing about the wave phones. At some point the Dream crew decided to lock out the ability to name the phones and edit the contacts. I can see why they did this, it was probably a support nightmare, and they don't want people messing with the contacts for services and emergency. They didn't clear the phones when they did this, so one phone is "Kayla" and the other is "Father". No telling how long it has been since Kalya cruised. They also set them to vibrate only, since ringing phones was apparently a big problem in movies and shows. It can be tough to feel them vibrate if your pockets are loose. I started keeping mine in my back pocket, wedged behind my wallet so I would feel it if I got paged from the Oceanears' Club.
The side hallway puts the room off the beaten path. I felt a little bad about that because it means door decorations won't be seen as much. However it also means that you can take your time getting in and out of the room with bags or children without getting in anyone's way. |

Notes: Room was very quiet!!!! I was worried as it is near the laundry room. But NO noise issues at all! Slept 2 adults and 2 kids (young) just fine. Loved it was on a small quiet hallway. Aft location was great for access to cabanas/pool. Would stay in this room again! |

Notes: Nice and quiet, situated between two elevator choices! We just always had to remember to check which direction we were in to know where we were.
I have a bad knee, and I think I would have liked to be a little closer to the elevators.
Bit of vibration coming from A/C vent in ceiling. The maid made a monkey and hung it from a hanger on it on our 2nd night and the vibration was gone!
We would book again, it was a nice cabin! |
