Notes: This is a fabulous room. We were the first to sail in it after the upgrade. Absolutely stunning and so much room, which was great for our two week cruise from Honolulu to Sydney. I would book this again in a heartbeat. Would be Wonder-ful for families! Location is perfect.

Notes: Sleeps 4 (in murphy bed & convertible sofa; NO drop down bed from ceiling). Very quiet location as far as hall traffic and such go. Thrusters used to park ship used during docking can be heard for the limited amount of time they are used in the morning. Room was in good shape, with no major wear or tear. We loved the huge porthole with cushion seat!

Notes: We loved this stateroom. It is forward, on the starboard side. The huge porthole was a lot of fun. We had good views of all the EC ports, including Castaway Cay. We used the sofa bed for our daughter (5) and a pack and play for our son (18 mos). After trying the Murphy bed for our daughter on the first night, we realized that we had more space if she slept on the sofa bed, instead. I would recommend this arrangement to anyone using a pack and play in this room. When the Murphy bed is down, it is hard to access the cabinetry at the porthole end of the room. When the sofa bed is in use, it doesn't take up any additional space; thus making it easier to accommodate the pack and play in addition to the chair and storage chest that are at that end of the room. With my daughter in the sofa bed, I had plenty of room to use the chair and chest (as a footrest) when my son woke up in the middle of the night. Also, having the curtain separating the two halves of the room was great for when the kids were asleep at night or at nap time. Storage: there was more than enough storage space for all of our things (and we overpacked, terribly). Our two huge suitcases, Maclaren stroller and another box all fit under the bed without any problems and room to spare. Our son's Britax carseat fit into the bottom of the closet that also contains the safe. We had to turn it upside down to fit, but it stayed in place. Bathrooms: this room has the split bath with a round tub and the arrangement was great. The handheld shower made washing the kids much easier. The diaper genie was placed in the side that contains the toilet. This room was in great shape, with no signs of wear and tear. We felt the movement of the ship the whole time, but it didn't bother us. One thing to know is that this room is much closer to the laundry room on deck 7, since that room is also forward. The laundry room on deck is is aft, so it was much more convenient to walk down a flight of stairs then the length of the ship. We booked our next cruise while still on board and were disappointed to learn that this room had already been assigned. So we took a room on deck 7, also forward on the starboard side. Same category (8C).

Notes: The room was nice but not what I'd expected for the price. The size and amenities were great but it looked shabby overall. The carpet is in bad condition and the sofa wasn't fit for a Motel 6. I was disappointed those weren't replaced. The Quiet Cove (adult only) deck was above us so we heard chairs sliding around all day and night. That was loud but we got used to it and it didn't wake up our baby. Otherwise, there was tons of storage, good space for 4 adults and 3 children and really great to have the concierge service. We did have our room steward move around the furniture to open up the floor. He moved the giant coffee table to the side of the room so we could walk around more easily and the kids could play on the floor.

Notes: This suite is wonderful, no pun intended. We are a family of 7 that includes DH and myself, 3 adult children and 2 school age children. The older kids had the second bedroom, the school age slept on the pull out queen sofa bed, and DH and I had the master bedroom. We had plenty of storage space and didn't use it all. The 2 1/2 bathrooms are great. Both bathrooms have a shower and bath tub. The second bedroom has a drop down bunk and two twins that can be configured as a queen. Our 6'2" son slept in the bunk and though his feet hung over a bit he said he slept well and could easily sleep there again. The younger kids were comfortable in the pullout and had no issues sleeping. We never felt crowded in the suite. It was great having the living and dining rooms to congregate in the morning and after dinner. We typically picked up breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet and brought it back to the room. The wet bar is a great asset that we used extensively. We wish the fridge was a bit larger and it would be nice to not have to continually call room service for ice. Not a big deal though. The suite is very nicely appointed and in very good condition. It's not perfect and I could see a few signs of age but I had to really look hard for them to see them. We heard no hall traffic at all but that's partly attributed to no inside staterooms. We were right near the forward elevators and again, never heard elevator dings or traffic. The verandah is very large and we made great use of it. We occasionally heard deck chairs being moved above us but because it was the adult pool that was few and far between. We never had deck noise wake us up. I would love to be able to book this suite again!

Notes: We really liked this room and this room category. The porthole is very large and provided a great view of Castaway Cay. This room has the murphy bed / sofa bed combo, which seemed to work really well. Storage space was great. Lots of hangars and plenty of suitcase storage under the bed. No hallway noise or any noise for that matter. Only downside is that with the murphy bed in the down position, the dresser cabinent near the port window is basically inaccessible. We used that area for dirty clothes but if you wanted access to the site each morning, you would need to plan ahead the night before or have very skinny arms. Alarm clock is very useful as a night light plus there is a night light over the the sofa/murphy bed area which was a nice touch. Room was in excellent condition -- no wear or tear noticed anywhere.

Notes: The room was basically worn out. for the money you have to pay to get this room, it should be in tip top shape, but the living room couch was uncomfortable and the rug badly needed to be replaced.

Notes: We stayed in 8516 twice, first in Alaska on 6/21/11, then on the MR in 10/11. Both times, amazing experiences. We love this room. Generally pretty quiet, and if you have deck noise from above, tell concierge and they will rope off the area at night/early morning. Love the kids having their own room, plus the closet in the master bedroom is large enough to hold a pack n play, luggage, and clothing.

Notes: Loved this room!!! We had adjoining rooms with my teenage daughter and her friend. We never heard them. Plenty of room and love the new showers. Only down side is it was a long walk when you accidentally get on the mid elevator. :) very convenient to the adult pool.

Notes: The cabin has 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, living room/dining room and a wet bar area in just over 900 sq ft. More space/storage than you will ever need. The master has a wonderful walk-in clothet and large bathroom with full size jetted tub that is divided by two doors for more privacy (two of my favorite features of this room). The kids room has two twins and one pulldown bunk & a nice size bathroom and clothet. The 1/2 bath is very nice for guests. The master queen size bed was nice but after being on the Dream a few months ago, it wasn't as comfortable as that one but the sheets were a very good quality. My only problem with that room was the noise above the master bedroom from Deck 9. The first two mornings I was awoke at 5am by the very loud sounds of deck chairs being moved & the deck being cleaned above my head (it sounded like thunder and very hard to sleep or go back to sleep). I mentioned it to my Conceirge on day two and I never heard it again that early in the morning. You could however hear people scooting the chairs above you other hours of the day but it wasn't too bad since you weren't trying to sleep. Above this room is the Quiet Cove smoking area with tables & deck chairs but I never smelt smoke on our triple wide balcony. We had 4 people in this room (2 adults and 2 kids ages 12 & 10) plus many guests visit. The Conceirge staff was wonderful and the perks were very nice (free soda & water delivered everyday on request the first day). The Forward elevators and stairs were just around the corner; never heard any noise being so close to them. I might add that we've sailed in the Roy Suite twice before and this room was just as wonderful and I would sail in it again.

Notes: Lots of space for a family or large group with the couch & 2 chairs in the living room and 6 chairs around the dining room table that can also be used for seating - walk out the door and the forward stairs and elevator are right there - triple wide verandah was great and being on the starboard side we saw the islands - at times there were chairs or equipment being dragged on the 9th deck overhead but it wasn't horrible - 2 1/2 baths was nice when you were trying to get ready for dinner - great perks with concierge(snacks, DVD's, character schedule every morning, ask and they will make it appear)

Notes: We sailed a back to back in this stateroom. The only problem was noise during the night from deck 9. It was heard all through the night. It seemed that they might have been working on the decking on deck 9 and this was not something that normally happened.

Notes: This was an amazing stateroom...more storage than you will (or should) ever need or utilize. The master bed was extremely comfortable, the 2 1/2 baths ideal for 2 adults, DS (19) & DS (14). The triple size veranda was private and perfect. We found ourselves spending more time in the suite than originally thought. Very little noise from deck 9 above, and only when on the veranda. Expensive but luxurious. Being next to the stairs and forward elevators was perfect...no noise from this area whatsoever. This room will not disappoint. Enjoy!

Notes: This room has so much space that you wouldn't need to pay more for the Cat 1. There is almost no difference between them. Great location, not noisy. Plenty of closet, cabinet and drawer space. Loved the longer verandah.
