Ship: Disney Magic Stateroom: 8538 Condition: 4
Deck: 8 Category: 4A Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 03/15/15

Notes: We enjoyed the room. It was super quiet and very convenient to the mid-ship elevators & stairs. Popping up to deck 9 for a quick slice of pizza or ice cream cone was no problem at all. The verandah was nice, we enjoyed spending our mornings on it watching the waves go by. Great view of Castaway Cay while in port. Slight noise of chairs scraping the floor above occasionally, but not enough to be bothersome. The only real down side was that there was a significant gas smell when docked at Port Canaveral and Cozumel. We couldn't be on the verandah at those times because it was overwhelming.

Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 8538 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 4A Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 11/16/13

Notes: Only foot traffic we heard was from people going to and from their rooms. This room is right below where they have the parties on deck 9. So sometimes it is loud from above. But we were usually out of the room during those times anyways. Room itself was very large and comfortable. We only had two adults, one 5 year old and a baby. Our 5 year old slept on the couch/daybed and our 1 year old slept in the pack n play that fit nicely where the Murphy bed would be. We really enjoyed the short distance to the midship elevators which were just around a small corner.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 8538 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 4B Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 11/09/13

Notes: We liked this room. Had everything we needed. The view is partially obscured on the deck, which we did not expect, but it wasn't much and didn't bother us. Loved the bunkbed for the little one. When asked, they left it open during the day w/ the sofa underneath, that was nice. The only issue we had was on one bumpy night at sea, the ceiling creaked and I had a very hard time sleeping. My hubby and son slept fine. If you are a light sleeper, you may want a differnt room. The connecting room w/ ours did not creak at all, guess it's luck of the draw!

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 8538 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 5A Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 04/04/13

Notes: Fat chick tales from a full Easter-time cruise! Stateroom 8538 on the Disney Dream was great! The view from this room is wonderful while docked since it is on the starboard/right side and on the 8th deck, especially at Castaway Cay (for those of you that don't know, you can tell which side the room is on by the stateroom number. Ours was starboard because of the "5" after the deck number and "6" would be the same). Its so much fun to sit on the verandah while the ship is entering or leaving a dock. The railing is clear plexiglass and has a couple accidental paint marks where the white portion of the rail has been repainted, but nothing that would block your view. The only other problem we had was with the Wave phones because even after charging we had a hard time getting them to work. Although I had quit smoking and didn't on the cruise ship, there was an ashtray located on the veranda attached to the privacy wall on the left for those that would need one. The location of this room is great. It's in the middle, more toward the front/forward/bow part of the ship. It's far enough away from the elevators that we did not notice much outside noise nor did we experience any vibration. The only thing we heard was somebody running down the hallway every once in awhile, but that's to be expected on a cruiseship full of kids. We had a stormy sailing and the only time I noticed shaking was in the restaurants and the bathroom until the last night. I could hear the hangers rattling the very last night and at one time thought I would roll off the bed, but the waves were good size. This room had a pulldown bed and even though there were only three of us, they pulled it down for my soon-to-be 11 year old daughter to use. The room was VERY well taken care of and cleaned. It had a split bathroom with a sink and toilet in one little room and a sink and shower in the other. I'm a very large woman (both tall and width-wise) and found that I had plenty of room around the toilet, even though the room is small (one of my pet peeves in campers is bumping my elbows off the wall, lol, I did not have that problem in this stateroom). I do wish there was some sort of vent in the room. If certain bathroom duties (pun intended) make you turn up your nose, you may want to bring an air freshener. One thing I just have to point out is that our ship was COMPLETELY booked full, yet it did not feel overly crowded. The only time we noticed that the ship had a lot of people on it was when we went to eat at the buffet for lunch, but it was still relatively easy to find a table. (The buffet, by the way was OUTSTANDING!) It rained on the nights of the Pirate and Sail Away Deck party, but they still held both and still had fireworks. Even with a full ship, we were able to find a covered spot with room for my daughter and I to dance where we could see the cast members and entertainment. Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 8538 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 5B Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 01/06/13

Notes: Right near the elevators so east to go anywhere on the ship. Very quiet no problems with hall traffic. Great views leaving Port Canaveral and Castaway Cay. We had my wife and myself and two kids ages 17 and 20 and had more than enough room. I will definatley book this room again if we go on the Dream again.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 8538 Condition: 4
Deck: 8 Category: 5B Location: Forward
  Sail Date: 06/23/12

Notes: Loved the room. It is near the Forward elevators, but was not a problem at all. Only noise we noticed was from the shutting of the doors in the nearby cabins, which was a bit annoying. The problem with this location, is to get to Cabanas you need to go to Mid elevators or walk through the adult section.

Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 8538 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 4A Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 04/22/12

Notes: Excellent stateroom attendant Noel :) Mid ship location, split bath, upper and lower, plus a murphy bed. Verandah had a plexi wall (with rails). Suitcases all fit nicely under the bed. Took, and used an extension cord for charging the kids' handheld games. Also, over the door shoe holder was a terrific tip for the bathroom clutter, but lots of storage in the bathrooms, and the desk area. Loved the new Wave phones, and flat screen tv Alarm clock/ipod dock was great. Beverage cooler kept everything chilled well - not cold, but chilled was fine Also, steamer truck was VERY handy "drawer" space. New bedding, pillows and mattress were wonderful. Great room for the 4 of us, 2 adults and two teens. Booked this stateroom category for our next Disney Cruise
