Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 8594 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 8 | Category: 4B | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 01/28/16 | ||
Notes: Actually went 1/28/2017 but no option for that year.
First time on any deck other than 9, waited too long to book. Found that deck 8 this cruise was noisy...lots of kids running in hall all day, all night. Good location to mid elevators and stairs. Well working room, nice verandah. No Murphy bed but there is the sky bunk.
Great view at Castaway being on starboard side and also nice view of fireworks. |

Deck: 8 | Category: 4E | Location: Aft |

Notes: First time we've sailed aft and I much prefer foreward or midship. This was too from everything except topsiders and aft dining. We didn't mind the half plexi, half whitewall verandah. Some chair sliding noise above. But the worst part about the room was the smell of food, especially fish outside our room (thankfully not inside the room) any time topsiders was open. Also vibration was constant and really heard/felt it laying down - much more than deck 8 forward cabins. We would not select this room again. |

Notes: Very convenient to mid and nice hall walk to for and aft. No problem w/room for 4 adults. 18yr.old did find bunk a bit claustrophobic and hard at first.(Practice for college/dorm living!)Plenty of room for 7 suitcases. Noise level as expected. Butterflies greeted ship at Costa Maya. Great view of Castaway Cay. Watch bathroom door handles-they stick out and grab things... |
Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 8594 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 8 | Category: 4 | Location: Mid |
Sail Date: 06/07/11 | ||
Notes: This was a wonderful room. It had plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Lots of storage room. Really enjoyed having a verandah. Divided bathroom. It is on the starboard side, so we had a view of Castaway Cay. Not noisy in the hall at all. It was about a 2 minute walk to the elevators or stairs. Would definitely stay in this room again!! |
Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 8594 | Condition: 4 |
Deck: 8 | Category: 4E | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 02/05/11 | ||
Notes: Nice room with nice veranda. It's near the "secret" staircase to the beach blanket buffet - which is SUPER convinient for breakfast! Room sleeps 5 with a pull down bunk, a convertible sofa, a murphy bed, and a Queen. It is connected to 8596 if you so desire (we didn't). It's not noisy, but when the ship is in rough seas, it does rock with the ship - the ventilation roof panel dropped down twice in one night with rough weather! otherwise, we loved the room. Note, the veranda is half white steel and half clear - it worked for us, but if you have younger kids your kids won't really have a good view. Oh, one more nit, the lamp on the right side of the bed (when you are sleeping in it) doesn't work well, when the ship rocks, and you are on the bed, it may turn off by itself! |

Notes: Spent 14 nights in this room on the WBTA and found it to be an excellent room. Though listed as a metal walled verandah, it actually has half plexiglass and half metal, which was a nice surprise. The kids got to look out the plexiglass piece, and you also could sit and see out the plexiglass portion. Also had a nice double size steamtrunk for storage.
The room is very convenient to Topsiders (both aft and secret stairs) and to the drink station and other Deck 9 items, and also convenient to the Deck 7 back verandah.
The room was in great condition, with no repair issues. Hallway outside was very quiet, and we had minimal noise from Deck 9 above. We also had connecting room 8596 and it was also good, though it had a full metal verandah. |

Notes: It was very quiet. It is very convenient to Topsiders. We sailed a category 6 midship last cruise and found this room not to be that great of difference in space. (We are a family of 4). We had a little extra packing room, but that was it. It would be convenient for someone traveling with a pack-n-play for a baby. The verandah does have a partially obstructed view. We did feel more motion this time being in the Aft rather than midship. I still would recommend the room. Happy sailing. |
