Notes: We really enjoyed this room! The verandah had 4 chairs; 2 regular chairs and two semi-loungers (they were not full loungers but were bigger than the chairs and did recline). Usually part of the verandah was in sun and some in shade. It was very relaxing for us to sit out there. On Nassau day I had a nice 30 minutes sitting on a chair with my headphones on. We also saw the fireworks on pirate night from our verandah--they blast off that side of the ship and go backwards so we had a great view. Besides the great verandah the room is standard DCL--split bath (first cruise I have not tripped on that sill by the door, yay me!), bed, fold out couch if needed. It was a quick jog up to deck 11 but by the end of the trip I was using the aft elevator which is really close. I always went down the stairs, though. It's as far as you can be from the adult areas but hey, we need the exercise, right? I only gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because of some vibrations. DH would give it a full 5 because he liked the vibration and had no problem sleeping. I only had a problem on the last night when I think we were hurrying to Port Canaveral. It seemed to be worst at that time. (and if you do not sleep soundly you will know when they are turning around/backing in at Port Canaveral at 5AM). However, given the views and the large verandah, it is a minor thing and I still give the room a 4. BTW our room host was Yasa and he was great. I asked for ice on the first night and got it every night after without asking.

Notes: Our second cruise, and the second time in a 5E. Room in good condition. Once again enjoyed the aft elevators and proximity to Cabanas. Had two half-size loungers, plus two chairs and a table on the veranda. Our previous cruise we had the room directly above - that room had full size loungers on the veranda. The veranda felt like it was the same size, but must be a bit less deep than 9674. Overall this cruise was a bit more rough than our first, as there was a good number of storms around. There was some significant vibration when docking, but otherwise motion in the room felt the same as elsewhere on the ship. 3 night cruise and on one of the mornings there was soot on the veranda. So its a minor issue.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 8684 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 5E Location: Aft

Notes: I was on the Hurricane Joaquin eastern caribbean Fantasy sailing in 5E cabin 8684. This is all the way aft on the Fantasy. The veranda looks out directly over the wake of the ship. Interior of the room has all the standard amenities and configuration of other veranda cabins. Upon entering there are two good sized closets with hangers and shelves on the left. The split bath is on the right. The light switch for the bathrooms is on the wall between the two bathroom doors making it a bit inconvenient to turn on the light to the shower if you forgot before opening the door. The connecting door to the next room is opposite the bed. We heard very little noise coming from our neighbors. The bed seems a bit bigger than a queen. It was very comfortable with plenty of pillows and nice feeling sheets. Our suitcases fit well underneath and was glad to see Disney had made that space available. There is a curtain that separates the bed from the couch area. We did utilize the couch bed but not the pull down from the ceiling. The tv is on a swivel so it can be seen from anywhere in the cabin. The desk area was spacious and utilized it to keep our things organized and off the floor. There were one or two outlets on the desk but I had brought an extension cord and that made charging devices easier. The desk chair was handy when we wanted extra seating or had to work at the desk. There is a small chest that doubles as a table that could also be used for storage. This is an extended balcony cabin and the outside area is huge compared to other veranda rooms. However, it wasn’t as big as either room on the right or left of it. One of those was the direct center cabin and the other was the accessible room. We had 2 full size lounge chairs, two regular chairs and a table. I loved having the lounge chairs. There is enough of an overhang so there is shade and protection from any eyes above. I was out there a lot as we had many sea days making the pool decks seem crowded. There was a small amount of soot on some days, not all. It wasn’t a bother and it didn’t stick to anything. I put a bathmat in front of the door so we could wipe off feet before coming in. There was a diesel smell on the last two full days, which were sea days. I don’t know why we didn’t get it the other days. It didn’t keep me from being out there though. There was a very heavy vibration when the ship got over 19 knots, but this was only the last two full days. It could have been because we were hauling trying to get away from Joaquin and get back to port. This type of thing doesn’t usually bother me, but this was a vibration that moved everything in the room, visibly, and it bothered me. I had read the vibrating bed analogy prior to our departure. Yes, that is a good analogy. I did not notice it while I was sleeping so perhaps the forward speed slowed somewhat. The boat rocking was minimal too even tho the seas were probably higher than usual. This end of the ship is otherwise quiet. There is almost no foot traffic. The cabin stewards are always close by in the event we needed anything. It is however, a very long walk to almost everywhere. While it didn’t bother me, others might not like the hike. It is only a quick trip up the aft stairs to Cabana’s tho which was handy at times. Even with the vibration, I would absolutely book this cabin, or another 5E, again because of the veranda and the location. It’s a peaceful location to spend a week relaxing.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 8684 Condition: 4
Deck: 8 Category: 5E Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 02/01/14

Notes: love the large veranda with the 2 loungers, 2 chairs and 1 table, and the view of Castaway Cay, but didn't really like the "soot" on the veranda each morning (almost felt like black salt) the vibrations didnt bother me except when pulling into port on debark day (woke me up around 3am). I would book this room again because of the larger veranda, and the quick access to cabannas.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 8684 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 6A Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 11/03/12

Notes: I booked this room as a 6A but believe it's since been reclassified as a 5. I liked this room location a lot and wanted an oversized balcony. The view while backing-up into Castaway Cay was amazing. Only one night of the 7, the night leaving Puerto Rico and heading back north did I really feel the motion and hear extra "noise" coming from the engines below. This location was great if you have children in the Oceaneers Lab and it's a straight shot down the stairs or elevator to Deck 4 clubs and Deck 3 dining.

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 8684 Condition: 5
Deck: 8 Category: 6A Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 09/11/11

Notes: the room seems a little smaller then the Wonder but the verandah makes up for it.. being at the very back of the ship makes for some long treks to the mid and forward decks but... It is convient to Cabanas and Animators dining. when the boat starts to rock the door to the bathroom door (shower) is not a good fit so you need to leave it open at night about 1/4" and it won't rattle anymore...I would re-book that room again without hesitation....you have a great view of Atlantis when in Nassau and excellent view of Castaway Cay
