Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 9176 Condition: 5
Deck: 9 Category: 4E Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 01/30/22

Notes: Sail Date was actually 1/30/2023! (2023 wasn't an option) We were on a 5-night sailing out of Miami. The room itself was the typical Deluxe Oceanview stateroom. The verandah was HUGE!!!!! Being at the rear of the ship we had some awesome views sailing away from all of the ports. Some have complained about noise and vibration. I can confirm this, especially when making manuevers that involve rotating the ship. Was the vibration annoying? Yes, it was, but it wasn't horrible. Others also complained about ash covering the verandah, we didn't notice that at all. Being on deck 9 was a convenient walk to Cabana's above. We could hop on the elevators and head down and be in the District or Animator's Palette pretty quick. Being at the true aft end of the ship, we had a fabulous view in the morning backing into Castaway Cay. Ultimately the question is, "Would we stay in this room again?" Yes! Resoundingly, "YES!" We felt the location was amazing in regards to everything we wanted to do, especially with the aft views while sailing and in and out of port.

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 9176 Condition: 4
Deck: 9 Category: 5E Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 08/29/15

Notes: I liked the room and would stay there again. My husband would not. The vibration when cruising and the rattling of the closets drove him crazy. It was very noticeable. Even the towel animals shook on the bed. The soot on the balcony wasn't as bad as I was expecting after reading other reviews. I liked being aft. It seemed like we were always in that area. Hardly any foot traffic in the hallway. Had a connecting room so I heard a raised voice just one morning when waking up but didn't notice we had neighbors otherwise. Loved the size of the balcony and we backed into Castaway Cay & St Thomas so that was an awesome view.

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 9176 Condition: 5
Deck: 9 Category: 4B Location: Aft

Notes: On the very back of the ship - HUGE verandah - will definitely request this one again!

Ship: Disney Fantasy Stateroom: 9176 Condition: 5
Deck: 9 Category: 4E Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 01/12/13

Notes: Had this room and the connecting room 9174. Opened up the verandah between the two and loved every minute of it. In fact, due to my husband's snoring I experienced some of the best sleep ever in one of the two loungers. I fear that I have been forever spoiled for future cruises by my week relaxing and spreading out on the fabulous verandah of room 9176 and 9174.

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 9176 Condition: 2
Deck: 9 Category: 5E Location: Mid
  Sail Date: 02/12/12

Notes: We booked cabins 9174 and 9176 at the back of the Dream on our last cruise - they are connecting room cabins, as well as deck space. It was great having such a huge amount of deck space, especially with the two combined, and we were even able to have a couple of loungers and a table out there on both verandahs (there's not enough space for loungers on the port/starboard verandah cabins - only enough for 2 chairs & a table). We also loved the views afforded from the back of the ship - even though its solid white walled, its still a little lower than those on the Magic/Wonder. There are a couple of downsides though ; By far the worst is the verandah gets quite grimey from the smoke stack fall out each time the ship is in motion. As a result, the deck & furniture are almost permenantly covered in little flecks of soot. This is why I give it a below average mark for condition. Annoyingly, from our direct experience, DCL are totally not interested getting these verandahs properly cleaned on a regular basis, during your cruise (its too big of a space to expect your room attendant to do it given their limited time per cabin). Despite repeated complaints to housekeeping (and even to housekeeping management) during our 4 night cruise, nobody came to clean it despite the fact it really was unacceptably dirty. The verandah only got a hose down on disembarkation morning - ready for the next guests. So do take some wet wipes with you, or lay down towels first, so at least you won't get any white garments picking up black bits.....and have slippers/flip flops ready for walking on deck to avoid black feet! Also you do get occasional loud music/partying noises coming from the very, very top (non public) deck late at night, as you are right below the staff members/crew's own bar/entertainment area...but you only hear this at night if stood outside on your verandah. The room is also prone to excessive vibration when coming into port. Are these good cabins ?...well we have re-booked them for our next cruise, so positives do out weigh the negatives (just). If booking 2 cabins together again however I would book 9674 with this one as though these cabins don't connect, the overall deck space would be very slightly bigger.

Ship: Disney Dream Stateroom: 9176 Condition: 5
Deck: 9 Category: 6 Location: Aft
  Sail Date: 10/09/11

Notes: Loved the cabin!! Easy access from Aft elevators/stairs, but long walk from Forward/Mid-Ship (but that's pretty obvious considering the location). Plenty of storage space -- under the bed, in the "coffee table", in the two closets, and the drawers. Granted, there was only two of us, but there was also the pull out couch and pull down bed. In terms of noise, we were awoken while pulling into ports; however, our friends who were staying Mid-Ship said they were as well, so I don't think I would attribute it to our location, as others have staying in Aft cabins. Fabulous views from the Aft, and a longer than typical verandah. Link to cabin pictures taken while in port and at sea. Ports of call -- Port Canaveral, Day at Sea, Nassau, Castaway Cay -- https://picasaweb.google.com/cctimmom/201110DisneyDreamCabin9176?authkey=Gv1sRgCJbU1Zrtl526yQE Just a note -- the connecting doors which are usually locked between the verandahs, appear open because of the big storm with strong winds (we believe they were hurricane force) that blew all of the locking mechanisms of the doors out. The next morning, maintenance came out and took all of the doors off because they were pretty damaged. Normally, the doors are securely fastened, so just know any pictures you see of them open, are just because of the storm.

Deck: 9 Category: 5E Location: Aft

Notes: This room is center aft on deck 9. The room itself was very standard, but the verandah is huge! There is a small closet space next to the room and the extra square footage from this on the verandah is given to 9176. At the time of our saling, the verandah was equiped with two loungers, two chairs and a small table. We had a terrific view of Castaway Cay and Atlantis from the verandah. This is a connecting stateroom to 9174. No worries with noise though - we never heard our neighbors at all and the door itself is unobtrusive. This room is equipped with both a sleeper sofa and the pull down bed. Our stateroom host asked DD which one she would prefer and she choose the pull down. When the upper berth is pulled down, you can see the "nighttime sky" above. I thought this was a cute touch - look carefully and you'll find some well loved characters from Peter Pan. Here are some photos of the room and verandah: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8MYtXLhuyZAQ Although we really enjoyed the balcony, I am unlikely to book it again. I prefer to be able to sit and watch the endless ocean drift by from my verandah. With the partial whitewall and bars, it wasn't quite as enjoyable. I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it, but will go for a side verandah next time. Hope you enjoy the room and have a magical vacation!
