Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 9664 | Condition: 5 |
Deck: 9 | Category: 7A | Location: Aft |
Sail Date: 07/06/19 | ||
Notes: This room was perfect for our family of three. Seemed very quiet and the Aft of the ship is easy to navigate as there seem to be less people in that section of the ship. Easy access to Cabanas and Meridian Bar for a cigar. We had a wonderful view of ports and a picturesque view of Castaway Cay. All of the nooks and crannies made storage a breeze. The verandah is on the smaller side with a cleaning rig overhead but it was a complete non-issue for views. |

Notes: Amazing cabin!! Quiet and peaceful. Not a lot of traffic. This cabin was on the Starboard side of the ship and we had excellent views of Castaway Cay from the verandah. Convenient to Cabanas. Maintenance basket that hangs over the verandah was a NON issue!! Actually, we preferred it. Will definitely book this cabin again!! |

Notes: Would definitely book this room again. The verandah has minimal obstruction on the forward side, which was actually very nice as it provided a nice wind break while sailing. The maintenance cage that lives above the balcony does obstruct the view above a bit if you like star gazing or like to take wide angle shots from the balcony, but otherwise isn't an issue. The aft location was very nice - quiet with little foot traffic, elevators were hardly ever busy, and very convenient to the clubs on deck 4 and cabanas on deck 11. This room sleeps 3 people. We had a gorgeous view of The St. Thomas marina, and a perfect view of the main beqches of Castaway Cay. Very good value for the money since the obstruction is so minimal. |

Notes: DCL informs that this room has obstructed view. The obstruction is about the cleaning cart from Deck 10. It remains parked above Verandah whenever the ship sails. So, it obstructs the sky view, but you must look upwards to note that. No problem at all.
No kind of noises from above and from each sides. Just normal noises from noisy passengers in corridor and very low engine vibrations when docking. No problem, too.
I consider it perfect. |

Notes: Would definitely take this room again. Not noisy, although from the verandah, you could hear kiddos up on Deck 11. Not a lot of foot traffic down that hall, which was nice. Quick access to Cabanas and the drink machines, which was nice. The Navigators verandah was lovely. There was hardly any obstruction. There's a maintenance cage right above the verandah, but it didn't obstruct the view. If anything, I felt like the verandah was more private because there was only another verandah on one side instead of both. Great view of Castaway Cay. Room doesn't have a pull down, but we were a family of three, so it was plenty roomy. The one drawback was that it was a long haul to the adult pool and spa. |

Notes: This room recently was
downgraded to Category 7A because of the partial view obstruction on the veranda. The wall on the left side of the veranda is a semicircle porthole cutout. There is a maintenance cage that sits just above the veranda on the outside of the ship. The bottom half of the railing barrier is solid white.
The porthole cutout covered only a small portion of the veranda. It wasn't a problem for us and actually gave a small, cozy corner out of the wind. The maintenance cage was noticeable, but only if looking up. It didn't block any of our outward views. I didn't consider the solid white railing an issue. You could still sit on the chairs without a block in view. The view from the cabin was fine as well.
I enjoyed being on the starboard side as it gave great views of Castaway Cay and the Atlantis Hotel.
This room does not have a drop down ceiling bunk nor is it a connecting room. Perfect for a couple or family of three. It was very quiet in this area. Close to the aft elevators, but a good hike to midship. Easy to walk up the steps to Cabanas and the pool areas on Deck 11.

Notes: This room was perfect in my opinion. There were 3 of us so we did not need the upper berth. I was happy with this location from every aspect. Really loved the convience to Cabanas and drink refill area to get coffee in the morning.
I looked at our paperwork and at the time it was considered a Cat 6. The view obstruction and the maintenance cage were concerns before we sailed, but were not a problem. If I could switch to this room over the cat 7 room I've been assigned on the Fantasy (thought it would be the same), I'd take it in a heartbeat! |
