There is nothing worse than anticipating a specific Disney attraction, and after you arrive, finding out that it will be closed for the duration of your stay. Below is a complete list of the Walt Disney World rehab and refurbishment schedules that you can expect in the upcoming weeks and months. You can't plan for sudden closings, but you can manage your expectations by referring to the list below before your Disney vacation. Not all "shut downs" are scheduled, and there are countless reasons why an attraction might suddenly close. Don't get mad at the cast members, it's not their fault. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – will close for an extended refurbishment on January 6, 2025. It will reopen in 2026.

Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland – will close for a multi-month refurbishment starting January 13, 2025. The ride is scheduled to reopen in summer 2025.

The Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square – will close for refurbishment starting January 20, 2025. A reopening date has not been announced.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Storybook Circus – the indoor playground will close January 27, 2025 and will reopen in the Spring. The ride will remain open.

Test Track – Closed for refurbishment; reopening in late-summer 2025.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros – Closed for refurbishment from January 6 to March 15, 2025.
- Last day for TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures at Animal Kingdom is Jan. 12, 2025. Tropical Americas construction walls go up Jan. 13. DINOSAUR will remain open through 2025. The Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites stay open for now.
- Kali River Rapids will close for annual refurbishment on Jan. 6, 2025 and is expected to reopen in March 2025.

NOTE: Our listings are only for those refurbishments that will likely have an impact on the majority of guests. When it comes to changing out furniture and such in guest rooms, this is fairly routine as Disney is always updating its resorts. Unless it's a full scale remodel, it's considered standard maintenance and is not included in our refurb/rehab schedule.

- All-Star Movies From January 2025 through April 2025, Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, guests are welcome to swim in the Duck Pond Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

- Bay Lake Tower - Disney's Contemporary Resort
From Sept. 2024-Sept. 2025, room refurbishment work will take place in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. During the refurbishment, Guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower. Additionally, the Skybridge may experience intermittent closures. Please allow extra time for travel as alternate paths may be utilized.
From January 26, 2026, to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, Bay Cove Water Play Area, and Bay Cove Pool Spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be closed for maintenance. The Contemporary Feature Pool, Water Play Area, and Spas, and the Bay Lake Pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy. Guests may see or hear construction until the work is completed in May. - Beach Club Resort Walt Disney World has announced that from January 2025 through May 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. They’ve advised that guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this closure, guests are able to use the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools.
- BoardWalk Resort & Villas Beginning in September, the Screen Door General Store, Disney’s Character Carnival, and Thimbles & Threads at Disney’s BoardWalk will each undergo refurbishment. While one store is closed for construction, you are welcome to shop at and enjoy the other two stores that are available.
- Caribbean Beach Resort
Beginning January 13, 2025, the Fuentes del Morro Feature Pool and Aquatic Play Area will be closed for routine maintenance and is expected to reopen at the end of January. All other resort pools will be available.
- Contemporary Resort
From Sept. 2024 - Sept. 2025, room refurbishment work will take place in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. During the refurbishment, Guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower. Additionally, the Skybridge may experience intermittent closures. Please allow extra time for travel as alternate paths may be utilized. - Coronado Springs Resort
Beginning in September, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village will undergo exterior maintenance, with work expected to conclude by late December. These enhancements may impact views from various locations throughout the Resort. During this period, views of the Sunset Savanna from Sanaa may be partially or completely obstructed. Animal viewing will be available from the Savanna Outlook adjacent to the restaurant during daytime hours. Guests are welcome to enjoy these views prior or after their dining experience.
Beginning January 7, 2025, Uwanja Camp, the aquatic play area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village, will be closed for routine maintenance. Uwanja Camp is expected to reopen to Guests in early February. All pools will remain open to Guests.
- Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
From January 6, 2025, through the end of May 2025, a new Disney Vacation Club sales office will be constructed near Pioneer Hall. During this time, the Settlement Depot Bus Stop will be temporarily relocated to the parking lot across from Tri-Circle-D Ranch. All activities and entertainment, including carriage rides and hayrides, will remain open. Please be prepared to use alternate paths of travel. Guests may see and hear construction work during this time.
- Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing refurbishment. Guests will be able to see and hear construction around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available. Please allow for extra travel time.
The courtyard pool is closed for refurbishment through late February.

- Disney's Pop Century Resort
From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment. While all resort amenities will remain available, you may notice construction during daytime hours.
- Disney Port Orleans French Quarter
From May 2024 through spring 2025, some guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will be under refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.
- Disney's Port Orleans Riverside
From early April 2025 through the end of January 2026, guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will undergo refurbishment. During this time, guests may see or hear construction work in the area.
- Disney's Riviera Resort
Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort will be unavailable January 12-25, 2025, for planned maintenance.
- Disney's Saratoga Springs
- Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
From mid-May 2025 to September 2025, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo refurbishment. While all Resort amenities will remain available, you may notice refurbishment work during daytime hours.
- Disney's Yacht Club Resort
From January 2025 through May 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. They’ve advised that guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this closure, guests are able to use the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools. - Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

- REHAB: The attraction is closed for routine maintenance.
- REFURBISHMENT: The attraction is closed for an extended period for extensive repairs/remodeling.
- DARK: This term is used when a performance of a stage show is not scheduled
