There is nothing worse than anticipating a specific Disney attraction, and after you arrive, finding out that it will be closed for the duration of your stay.

Below is a complete list of the Walt Disney World rehab and refurbishment schedules that you can expect in the upcoming weeks and months. You can't plan for sudden closings, but you can manage your expectations by referring to the list below before your Disney vacation. Not all "shut downs" are scheduled, and there are countless reasons why an attraction might suddenly close. Don't get mad at the cast members, it's not their fault. Things at the parks have to be maintained regularly in order to continue working properly.

• Walt Disney World Railroad - To make way for the largest expansion in history at Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad is operating under a modified route that excludes Frontierland station. The attraction now operates as a "shuttle" between Main Street station and Fantasyland station only.
  
  

• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – closed for an extended refurbishment on January 6, 2025. It will reopen in Spring 2026.

• Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland – went down for an extensive refurbishment on August 4, 2025, and will reopen in Spring 2026.

• Spaceship Earth – Spaceship Earth temporarily closed on August 25, 2025, for a routine refurbishment and is expected to reopen later this year. GEO-82 is still open and available for guests to enjoy.

• Kali River Rapids temporarily closed on October 6, 2025, and is expected to reopen in December 2025.
• DinoLand U.S.A. will permanently close on February 2, 2026. This means the final day to experience DINOSAUR and The Dino Institute Shop is February 1, 2026.
• The final day to experience Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge is February 1, 2026.
• This winter, Harambe Market will temporarily close to enable the location to begin serving these fan-favorite items when DinoLand closes. Disney expects the location to reopen in early 2026.

• Vacation Fun - An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie temporarily closed on October 20, 2025 and will reopen later in the year.

• Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – Temporarily unavailable

• NONE

• Blizzard Beach is closed for refurbishment.

• The Disney Skyliner will be closed for routine maintenance from January 25-31, 2026. Buses will be available to and from all Disney Skyliner Resorts throughout the planned closure. Buses and FriendShip Boats will be available for guests traveling between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
• From January 24, 2027, through January 30, 2027, the Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

• None

NOTE: Our listings are only for those refurbishments that will likely have an impact on the majority of guests. When it comes to changing out furniture and such in guest rooms, this is fairly routine as Disney is always updating its resorts. Unless it's a full scale remodel, it's considered standard maintenance and is not included in our refurb/rehab schedule.

• Animal Kingdom Villas

Kidani Village is undergoing exterior maintenance, with work expected to conclude by late December. These enhancements may impact views from various locations throughout the Resort. During this period, views of the Sunset Savanna from Sanaa may be partially or completely obstructed. Animal viewing will be available from the Savanna Outlook adjacent to the restaurant during daytime hours. Guests are welcome to enjoy these views prior or after their dining experience.

From October 2025 through May 2026, Guest rooms at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment, followed by refurbishment work at Jambo House from May 2026 through January 2027. During these times, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. All amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

• All-Star Movies
  Fantasia Pool Aquatic Play Area- From September 8 through late October, the Fantasia kiddie pool and water play area at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for maintenance. During this time, the Fantasia Feature Pool and Duck Pond Pool will remain open and Guests are also welcome to use the kiddie pools at Disney's All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts. Guests may see or hear maintenance activity throughout the construction period.

  From January 2026 until late April, the Surfboard Bay Pool and Kiddie Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for maintenance. During this time, guests are welcome to use the Grand Slam Leisure Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, as well as all other pools at Disney’s All-Star Resorts—including the Calypso, Kiddie, and Piano Pools at All-Star Music, and the Fantasia, Kiddie, and Duck Pond Pools at All-Star Movies.

• Art of Animation Resort


• Bay Lake Tower - Disney's Contemporary Resort
  Refurbishments will occur in phases throughout select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, including the atrium and Bay Lake Tower from September 2024 Through Late 2027. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.


• Beach Club Resort
  Exterior maintenance is being completed in phases at Disney’s Beach Club Resort through late 2026. This work may impact views from various locations throughout the resorts, and at times, Guests may be directed to use alternate paths of travel.
  
  
• BoardWalk Resort & Villas

Beginning in September 2025, the Screen Door General Store, Disney’s Character Carnival, and Thimbles & Threads at Disney’s BoardWalk will each undergo refurbishment. While one store is closed for construction, you are welcome to shop at and enjoy the other two stores that are available.

From January 11, 2027 to April 2027, the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see and hear construction until the work is complete.

• Caribbean Beach Resort
  
  
• Contemporary Resort
  From September 2024 Through July 2026: Refurbishments will occur in phases throughout select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, including the atrium and Bay Lake Tower. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.
  
  From January 26, 2026 Through Early May 2026: The Bay Cove Pool, the Cove Bar, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.


• Coronado Springs Resort
  
  

• Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
  Meadow Swimming Pool Expansion: Construction began in early May for an additional pool at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. The tennis court will be refreshed to accommodate both tennis and pickleball. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open. Guests using bus transportation should get off at the Meadow Trading Post Bus Stop to access the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool. The nearby tennis courts, volleyball court and the Meadow Recreation Area Playground will be closed temporarily. Guests may see and hear construction in the area until the work is complete.
  
  

  From September 23 through late November, the Reception Outpost Lobby at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will undergo a refresh. Work will occur overnight during third shift. The lobby will be open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. From 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., check-in will take place at the drive-thru booths. Please be aware that guests may see or hear construction work in the area until it is complete.

  Campfires and Wood-Burning Activities Temporarily Not Permitted: Due to dry conditions in Central Florida, campfires at campsites and any wood-burning activities are temporarily not permitted for guests. Resort-sponsored activities, including hosted campfires, will continue as scheduled.

  Erosion Control Work along Peacock Pass Sidewalk. Erosion control work along the sidewalk on Peacock Pass will occur through mid-September. Alternative travel routes will be in place to redirect Guests. Access to the Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain available throughout the duration of the work.

• Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  

  As part of the ongoing enhancements at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, refurbishment work will continue in select areas through mid-2026. Guests may see or hear work during daytime hours. Efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, and most pools, dining, and other amenities will remain available for Guests to enjoy. 

  As renovations continue at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the gingerbread display will not be available during the 2025 holiday season.
  

• Old Key West
  
Beginning October 6th through mid-November, the security kiosk at Disney’s Old Key West Resort will receive an exterior refresh and the entrance road will undergo paving work.


Entry: While work is underway on the entrance side, Guests will enter the Resort using the exit lane at the security kiosk. Exit: Guests will exit the Resort through the Cast/Service entrance located near the Housekeeping service building.

Miller's Road Leisure Pool and Spa Resurfacing - Beginning September 29 through late November, the Miller’s Road leisure pool at Disney’s Old Key West Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. During this time, Guests may see or hear refurbishment work in the area. Guests are welcome to enjoy the Sandcastle feature pool and the Old Turtle Pond and South Point leisure pools during the temporary closure.

• Polynesian Village Resort, Bungalows, & DVC Tower
  Entryway and Bus Loop Work: As part of enhancements at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, updates to the Resort front entrance and bus area will take place in phases, and began in May 2025. Guests may experience adjustments to their path of travel, and parking may be impacted at times. While construction activity will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, and all resort dining, pools and amenities will remain available.
  
  
• Pop Century Resort
  

  From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment. While all resort amenities will remain available, you may notice construction during daytime hours.
  
  From July 28 through mid-November, the lobby at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo a refresh. The lobby will remain open during construction and all amenities will be available. Guests may see or hear maintenance in the area during 3rd shift until work is complete.
  

• Port Orleans French Quarter
  
  
• Port Orleans Riverside
  

  From early May 2025 through the end of February 2026, guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will undergo refurbishment. While all Resort amenities will remain available, guests may see and hear refurbishment work during daytime hours. Disney cast members will be available to assist guests with alternate paths of travel during construction.
  

• Riviera Resort
  
  
• Saratoga Springs
  The Paddock Pool and its aquatic play area at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will be closed from October 13 through early December for routine maintenance. During this time, Guests are welcome to visit the High Rock Spring Pool and the leisure pools located at the Treehouse Villas, Congress Park and The Grandstand. Complimentary transportation will be provided for Guests to access the available pool locations during the maintenance period. The Paddock Grill will also be closed during the maintenance period. For alternative quick-service food and beverage options, Guests are encouraged to visit The Artist's Palette, Backstretch Pool Bar and Chip 'n Dale's Café.
  
  
• Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
  

  Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are undergoing exterior refurbishment work expected to continue through late 2026. These enhancements may impact views from various locations throughout the Resort. While most resort amenities will remain available, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.
  

• Yacht Club Resort
  Exterior maintenance is being completed in phases at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort through late 2026. This work may impact views from various locations throughout the resorts, and at times, Guests may be directed to use alternate paths of travel.
  
  
• Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

• SEASONAL OPERATION:  The attraction only opens during periods of anticipated peak attendance. Check Guest Relations and Park Guide maps for specific opening/closing times.
• REHAB:  The attraction is closed for routine maintenance.
• REFURBISHMENT:  The attraction is closed for an extended period for extensive repairs/remodeling.
• DARK: This term is used when a performance of a stage show is not scheduled
