ARTICLE: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure – An Imagineering Love Letter to New Orleans
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure features dozens of animatronics. Keep your eyes out for Princess Tiana, Louis, Mama Odie, Eudora, Charlotte, Prince Ralphie, and Prince Naveen, and more while riding the attraction!
Guests float through the cypress trees and Spanish moss of the Louisiana Bayou and toes will be tapping thanks to the adorable critters who sing and play instruments made from natural materials found in the bayou. The critters include an otter, rabbit, raccoon, beaver, turtle, and more. These critters will turn the bayou into a party with zydeco and other types of authentic New Orleans music.
Take a closer look at some of the animatronics in the attraction – they're stunning!
In addition to seeing friends from The Princess and the Frog with incredible new audio-animatronics, there are a whole slew of critters that guests will see as they float through the attraction. You can learn more about each of the critters and their stories in the articles linked below.
The setting for the new attraction takes place in 1927. Tiana is hosting a party for the people of New Orleans, but they are missing something and set out to meet some new friends. The new theme takes on scenes from Disney's Princess and the Frog film and picks up the story "after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance."
The image below takes a look at another scene and some of the brand-new characters that were created specifically for this attraction. In Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, guests join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis during carnival season as they’re getting ready to host a one-of-a-kind celebration for the people of New Orleans.
Mama Odie is part of the attraction and is voiced by Jennifer Lewis – the original voice actress for the beloved character! Mama Odie jokes with guests along their journey after a special display of her magic. The two-hundred-year-old Bayou Fairy Godmother, with her eccentric belongings and ‘seeing eye snake,’ Juju, is comically eccentric, yet wise and all knowing, throughout the adventure.
Guests will get to meet critters, big and small, throughout the attraction, and some really are … big, with an even bigger personality.
