The Walt Disney World Resort theme park ticket pricing structure is based on an interactive calendar based on dates chosen by the purchaser. In some aspects, it's easy to see exactly how much tickets will cost you, but if you don't know the exact dates you plan on visiting, this system can prove to be a bit difficult. We've done our best to lay out the nitty gritty.
Tickets for Walt Disney World are no longer priced on a value, regular, and peak season scale. Instead, Walt Disney World single-day and multi-day tickets are now priced based on the date guests intend to visit. The multi-day ticket pricing will be based on the arrival date chosen at the time of purchase.
As an example, a one-day ticket varies in pricing from $109 to $159 per day depending on the exact dates that are chosen to visit a theme park and which additional options are chosen. The prices are subject to change at any time without notice, but the charts below show a range of what you can expect to pay per day depending on the length of ticket you purchase. It's also important to note that these are the advance-purchase prices; waiting to buy your park tickets until you arrive at the gate will be more expensive. Multi-day tickets decrease in price per day, so the more days you visit a theme park, the less it costs per day.
The price ranges listed in the charts below are the advance-purchase cost PER-DAY and INCLUDE sales tax.
Savings are off the total ticket price and not per day.

What happens if you have already started your Disney vacation and realize you don't have enough days on your ticket or want to add the Park Hopper option?
Park tickets can be modified through My Disney Experience or by calling the Disney Reservation Center. If a ticket is changed to a higher priced time period, the guest is responsible for paying the difference in price. If the guest changes to a lower priced period, there will be no refund for that. If a ticket needs to be changed after the start date, guests will need to visit any Guest Relations location at Walt Disney World for assistance.
Exceptions - no Disney World ticket can exceed 10-days. If adding additional days would make the total number of park days go above 10 for any one park ticket, you cannot do that. You can add on extra days as many times as you want, as long as the total number of days never exceeds 10. Water Park and Sports Option entitlements are not counted in the 10.
You will be charged the current gate price for the new days added on.
Adding the Park Hopper option to a Base Ticket will allow you to visit more than one of the Walt Disney World theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom) on the same day. The Base Tickets allow visits to all four parks, but those visits have to take place on separate days. Adding the Park Hopper allows you to visit additional parks on the same day.
Guests must make a theme park reservation via the Disney Park Pass reservation system for the first park they plan to visit on any given day. After entering that first park, guests will be able to visit the next park until each park's regularly scheduled closure. Keep in mind that the ability to visit a second theme park is subject to the park's capacity limitations. At this time, a park reservation is not required for the second park visit of the day, however, reservation requirements are subject to change at any time. Guests can call (407) 560-5000 for same-day updates to theme park capacity.
The Water Park and Sports Option allows guests to visit one theme park per day, plus enjoy a certain number of visits to a water park or other Walt Disney World fun (listed below). A 1-day ticket allows one visit, a 3-day ticket allows 3 visits and a 4-day ticket allows 4 visits, and so on.
The Park Hopper Plus option will allow guests to visit more than one park on the same day, plus enjoy a certain number of visits to a water park or other Walt Disney World fun (listed below). A 1-day ticket allows one visit, a 3-day ticket allows 3 visits and a 4-day ticket allows 4 visits, and so on.
There is an extra cost on top of the Base Ticket and it is no longer the same flat fee for all tickets; the price changes depending on how many days you have on your ticket. Walt Disney World tickets are only valid on the dates you specify at purchase time (unless you've purchased the Flexible Date tickets). Guests are able to change the dates or options on their tickets any time prior to their arrival, but must keep in mind that if the change results in a higher priced day, they'll need to pay the difference. Additionally, if the changes made results in a lower price, there will be no refund issued. We recommend that you pay careful attention to the window of expiration to get the best bang for your buck.
Flexible Date Tickets do cost a bit more than the date-specific tickets and the cost to add this options varies. One of the main reasons for purchasing one of these tickets is for the 14-day usage window. One example of a good use of this option is if you plan on visiting Walt Disney World for a few days followed by a 7-night cruise then coming back for 3 more days in the parks. It will cost you less money to purchase a Flexible Date 6-day ticket than it would to buy two 3-day tickets.
Disney experts continue to strategize how to get the best pricing using the date-based ticket structure. For some of those strategies, and even more information and discussion about the ticketing system, join in on the conversation at DISboards.com.
If you have leftover park tickets from previous visits and can't remember how many days you have left on them, you can have your ticket checked while at Disney World at any of the ticket windows at the parks, concierge desks at the hotels or Guest Relations at Disney Springs.
You can also call Disney to check their status: (407) 566-4985 - Option #5 or email [email protected]. If you email, include a photograph or scan of the front and back of each ticket, photograph or scan of a government-issued ID, your full name, and daytime phone number. Email size needs to be below 2MB and it may take up to 14 business days for a response.
NOTE: All park tickets issued before 2004 do not expire, so any unused days will still be valid. From 2004-2014, a non-expiration option was available, so some tickets from this time may still be valid.
