Overview/History:
The first iteration of Test Track's queue focused on safety testing with crash dummies while the second iteration's queue focused on the Chevrolet's Automotive Design process, from the beginning sketches of the car to the actual vehicle you see on the showroom floor.
In Test Track's second iteration, guests chose their own custom design concept vehicle at an interactive design kiosk, choosing all their car's features.
Test Track's newest redesign, set to open July 22, 2025, takes guests through a series of showcase rooms in the queue. Each room highlights a different chapter in the evolution of automotive technology.
After boarding your sleek new ride vehicle, you'll head through the seatbelt check before being introduced to your automated guide: an intelligent onboard system that narrates the journey ahead.
The experience opens with a showcase of current automotive technology, focusing on how modern vehicles use advanced sensors to understand their surroundings. You then transition to the near future, cruising down a smart road that shows how electric vehicles could one day remain powered wirelessly as they travel. The next scene explores customization possibilities, showing how future drivers might tailor their vehicles from the comfort of home.
Then, you get to kick back and enjoy the ride as your vehicle embarks on a scenic road trip before it accelerates onto the outdoor track for the signature high-speed finale.
The post-show area is now a spacious General Motors showroom.
TIPS: This ride has a “single riders” option that could save you TONS of time in line. You’ll be split up from other members of your group, but if you don’t mind that, then give it a try. If you prefer to ride with your group, you'll want to utilize Lightning Lane.
