Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort Overview

At more than 200 acres, Disney's Caribbean Beach resort is the largest resort on Disney property. Its rooms are divided into five brightly colored villages representing different areas of the Caribbean; Trinidad, Martinique, Barbados, Aruba, and Jamaica. The resort's 45-acre lake is 1.4 miles around and makes for a great walking/jogging track. In the middle of the lake, connected by bridge, is Caribbean Cay island which has a number of secluded spots to sit and relax, as well as a children's play area.

Old Port Royale is the “port of entry” giving guests access to check-in, concierge services, hotel amenities, and dining. Visit Centertown Market for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and Calypso Trading Post for your shopping needs. You can also enjoy a meal at Sebastian’s Bistro, a table service restaurant that offers waterfront dining next to the Banana Cabana outdoor bar and lounge. The main pool and marina are located in this area as well. There are volleyball courts, bike rentals, and even 'movies under the stars' to keep you entertained on those days when you choose to relax at the resort.

Caribbean Beach Rooms

The rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are slightly smaller than rooms at some of Disney's others at 300 sq. ft. (versus 314 sq. ft at Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside, and Coronado Springs). Most rooms have two Queen beds and some rooms have a pull-down Murphy bed to accomodate a fifth guest. All rooms have a flat screen television. There is a mini-fridge available in the room as well as an iron and ironing board, and single serve coffee maker. The in-room safe in these rooms is large enough to hold a 15" laptop. There are two sink basins outside the shower/commode allowing one person to get ready while another one showers. A sliding barn-style door divides this section of the room from the sleeping area in the regular rooms.

Preferred rooms are located closest to Old Port Royale and are located in the Martinique section in buildings 24, 25 and 26. In Barbados (previously Trinidad North) - buildings 31, 32 and 33. These rooms are in close proximity to Old Port Royale. Rooms in other parts of the resort require a longer walk or use of the internal bus service to reach Old Port Royale.

Room categories at the Caribbean Beach Resort are currently Standard View, Water View, King Bed, and Preferred Room. If you need the Murphy bed, be sure to request thst on your reservation; there are 5th Sleeper Standard, 5th Sleeper Water View, and 5th Sleeper Preferred categories available.

The rooms in the Trinidad section of the resort sleep 5 guests and have new special touches that were inspired by the story of The Little Mermaid throughout. The artwork can be seen in various parts of the rooms and is quite different from the Little Mermaid rooms at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.

It's also important to mention that there are no elevators at this resort. If you can't do stairs, you'll want to request a first floor room.

Caribbean Beach Dining Options

ARTICLE: The Full Guide to Dining at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Centertown Market is home to the Caribbean Beach Resort's food court, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The counter service options include the Grab-n-Go shop which has pre-made sandwiches, baked goods, snacks, and drinks. Unlike the Old Port Royale of days gone by, guests will order and pay for their selections in one location. Guests will be given a tracker to set on their table and their meals will be delivered to them. There is a separate Mobile Order pick-up window.

Spyglass Grill
is located in the Trinidad area of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. This restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and features popular American foods infused with classic Caribbean flavors.

Sebastian's Bistro features flavors of both Latin and Caribbean cuisine (currently being served in skillets and dishes shared among the table), and the staff offers warm island hospitality beginning at 5pm each evening. The decor echos a tropical beachfront home, with coral patterns and kelp filigree that celebrate the Caribbean.

Banana Cabana is the full-service (and quite charming) poolside bar.

Room Service: Blue Runner Pizza Delivery is available from 4:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Disney Dining Plan: Food purchased at Centertown Market uses counter service credits from the Disney Dining Plan. Most bakery items are considered snack credits. Sebastian's Bistro uses one table service credit and Spyglass Grill uses one quick service credit. You can add the Disney Dining plan to a Disney theme park package.

Transportation

Due to the expansive size of this resort an internal shuttle bus is available to get around. The shuttle circles the resort and stops at Old Port Royale (food court, pool area, arcade, shopping) as well as Old Port Royale (check in). Bus transportation to all Disney theme parks is available at several locations around the resort. There are a total of 8 bus stops which are located outside Old Port Royale, across from Barbados (Building 33), in Trinidad between buildings 36 and 37, in Jamaica across the parking lot from building 44, in Aruba across from building 56, in Martinique across the parking lot from building 23, at Old Port Royale, and at the Disney Skyliner main hub. Due to the size of the resort and the number of bus stops, it is strongly recommended that you allow ample time to get to your destination.

The Disney Skyliner main hub is located at this resort. The station is inspired by the open air village marketplaces of the Caribbean and showcases the nearby resort’s architectural detailing and color schemes.
